Dear Saints,2015was a year that some would

like to remember and somewould like to forget. It was certainly ayear of highs and lows for many of us, asa church and individuals, but also a yearof endings and beginnings.

A new year is a chance for all of us tostart fresh and do things differently. It’salso an opportunity to put the past to restand also to turn and be open to newpossibilities. We have many newpossibilities here at FPC because of yourfaithfulness and generosity and…we havenew additions to our staff!

Most of you know we are so blessed tohave Sherm and Lorrie Skinner for-mally join us as Parish Associates inOctober. They were formally commis-sioned (Silly String and all) and continueto bless us in so many ways. Sherm andLorrie lead our “Shall We Gather”group which is a collection of folks 60years or older, who gather monthly toshare faith, fellowship and fun. TheSkinners also support me and the churchin numerous other ways like sharingpastoral care visits, staffing Christian edu-cation, worship leadership and preachingand they even sing in the choir! We are soblessed to have them choose us!

We also said good-bye to NormaMoreno, our wonderful church adminis-trator of 9 years. Norma and her husbandSam relocated their family to Dallas tobegin Sam’s ministry as a pastor in a His-panic, Nazarene church. Please hold them

in your prayers as they embark on thischallenging call from the Lord. Thankyou for all that you did to thank, celebrateand fête Norma and her family.

Suddenly we found ourselves on theprecipice of much change! We are blessedto announce the arrival of Nancy Arientaas our new church administrator. Nancystarted with us Nov 30th. She trained withNorma for the first 2 weeks and then hadto jump into the deep end of the pool byworking up to and through the Christmascraziness! She has done remarkably welland besides cranking out 4 bulletins in 7days, she worked feverishly with our elec-trician to get our spire properly and fullyre-lit! (More on the spire lighting andwindow renovations, next month). Nancyhas three children; Courtney, 15, Logan,10 and Collin, 6. She is also engaged to bemarried to Pete…wait for it…Van Sant!!We think we are loosely related! Pleasejoin me in welcoming Nancy!

But that’s not all…there’s more! We alsohired a sexton, Joseph Costa! Joseph’sfirst day on the job was Dec 21st . Josephwas happy to begin his work with us byvacuuming the sanctuary after theChristmas pageant and Coming of theLight services, left glitter…everywhere!(That stuff is hard to get up, so we mightsee vestiges of it until spring!) Joseph wasa logistics sergeant in the Army and isworking towards a degree in psychologyat Morris County College. He lives inLincoln Park with his sister and has onedaughter Ashley, 13, who lives in

Germany, with her mother. Please help mein welcoming Joseph. As a reminder, weare blessed with a larger church plant. Ifyou see something that needs cleaning,repair or replacing, please write a note toJoseph in the Custodian’s log (in hismailbox) or let Nancy or me know.

Please join me also in thanking thepersonnel committee (Connie Kelly, TrishHererra and Elaine Oussoren) for all theirhard work in helping recruit and hireJoseph and Nancy. Please also offer yourprayers and support whilst in the midst ofthe growing pains of new staff.

I know you also join me in a gratefulAMEN! for such a blessed Christmasseason which would not have beenpossible without all your hands and heartsand voices. The sanctuary was decoratedbeyond the beyond and the music in everyservice was truly heavenly; a gift fromGod, through the efforts of children, teens,bells and chancel choirs and the seasonedand spectacular direction of Sarah Berta.

We are blessed. We are blessed. We areblessed!

Lastly I thank you for your patient and un-ending support in this past year. You aretruly God’s faithful; giving your utmostfor God’s highest.

The pantry is currently in need ofnon-perishable items. Please keep inmind that food stamps do not allowfor the purchase of health and beautyitems. with brain cancer. Pray for healing.

EMMA MASTROGIOVANNI —Betty Tilli’s friend, is having ear sur-

gery to prevent deafness.

MARK — Betty Tilli’s friend, is under-going radiation treatment for a rare

melanoma.

MATT ROSIN — Jessica Beatty’sclassmate, is in coma with 35% sur-

vival chance after being hit by a bicyclist.He has been moved to a NY hospital to betreated for brain trauma.

GWEN WITMER — Marilyn Ward’sniece, has aggressive breast cancer.

Please pray for Gwen’s strength and heal-ing as she continues chemo.

GINGER HOWELL — daughter ofBobbie Vida’s cousin, is diagnosed

with breast cancer. Keep her in yourprayers.

BOB BIRRELL — Lynn Ware’s friend,is in late stage of prostate cancer and

has kidney stones.

necrosis.

avoid surgery.

CHRISTOPHER RUDIE — relative ofGail Coe, has cerebral palsy and is in

the ICU with parainfluenza.

KEVIN SANDRUE — Donna Kurley’sbrother-in-law, diagnosed with Metas-

tic Melanoma. Pray for strength and an-swers for Donna’s sister Carol.

DANIEL COE — Gail’s son, has beenlaid off, along with 53 other co-work-

ers. Please pray for employment to helpmeet all of their needs.
