If there is a message out of memory popping up, usually it is because the RAM is not big enough to run the game,

but some will ask my computer RAM space is enough and computer configuration is good, why this problem

happen?

In Vista and Win7 operating system, because of Prefetch and Superfetch program, system will automatically

allocate available of physical memory, so sometimes even configuration is good, RAM is still not enough.

Here is a way for players who have this problem as reference.

PS: It is not recommended disabling SuperFetch in Windows 7, but if we need slightly more memory to play game

smoothly or don't need SuperFetch, we can feel free to do it for a check.

1. Prohibit indexed files which generated by prefetch program

Start --> Run-->Input services.msc

Double-click the SuperFetch key and it will open the Properties dialog window. Here you can Disable it by changing

the dropdown to Disabled. There is another interesting option called Automatic(Delayed Start), this will start

superfetching after quite some time during startup. To stop superfetching immediately, hit the Stop button.

2. Set only prefetch system files

Start --> Run --> Input regedit

Find out the option EnablePrefetcher on the right of the window as the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Session Manager/Memory

Management/PrefetchParameters

If its value is 3, edit it to 2, 2 means only prefetch system files.

3. Clear prefetch files while shut down computer

Create a txt file, input

del %systemroot%/Prefetch/*.* /q

Save it as DelPrefetch.cmd file.

Open Run, input gpedit.msc, choose Computer Configuration --> Windows Settings --> Scripts(Startup/Shutdown),

Open Run, input gpedit.msc, choose Computer Configuration --> Windows Settings --> Scripts(Startup/Shutdown),

double click ShutDown option on the right of the window, click Add button in the window popping up, add

DelPrefetch.cmd file, it will clear prefetch files then and improve startup speed next time.

I don't even have 'Superfetch' or 'Prefetch' on the list. I'm running an HP '06-'09 (Can't remember) Comp., and it says

I have 50GB used, and 5GB free. D:

DN still says it has too little. Maybe try to compress hard drive to save space? I don't know.

Windows XP doesn't have SuperFetch, only vista and windows 7 has it. You can try to use way 2 and way 3, and if

you have system optimization software, it will help you release some useless memory too, it's more convenience.

Do you name the .txt file as "DelPrefetch.cmd file" or "DelPrefetch.cmd"? Because I got confused at how you said it
