Your SLA is someone who
Is first port of call when you have a problem
Your SLA is someone who
Listens to your concerns and problems
Your SLA is someone who
Monitors your progress
Your SLA is someone who
Follows up on problems with attendance, punctuality and homework, and helps you
to resolve these problems
Your SLA is someone who
Meets with you if a subject teacher issues a ‘cause for concern’ to agree the way forward;
can with course leaders initiate Stage 1 Academic Disciplinary Review meetings
Your SLA is someone who
Refers you to Course Leader/CQTM where concerns persist (e.g. student receiving
cause for concerns in two or more subjects)
Your SLA is someone who
Helps you to manage your work load effectively and set yourself targets
Your SLA is someone who
Has one-to-one meetings with you on regular basis
Your SLA is someone who
Helps you develop your Individual Learning Plan – ‘ILP’ which is then entered
onto ProMonitor

Supports and encourages you to complete sections on your ILP relating to additional
activities such as involvement in sports, student ambassadors, student union or the course reps

Helps you to develop the study skills and revision skills you need to succeed on
your courses

Refers you for specialist advice and help where necessary (E.g. college counsellors, careers and Additional Learning Support)
