The Source• The Source is the
beginning of the river and usually starts up in the hills. It is where the river is starting its journey to the sea.
• The River Severn starts in the Cambrian mountains in whales.
Tributaries • Tributaries are when a
small river flows in to a larger one. Also known as a parent river.
• Tributaries of the River Severn include: Cound Brook which joins The Severn at Eyton on Severn, the River Camlad which joins the Severn near Camlad and the River Stour which joins the Severn at Stourport.
Meanders • A Meander is a little
bend in the river, and as more water gets in to it, it will bend more and more, and start to wash away some of the land.
The Mouth• The mouth of a river
is where it flows into the sea and ends its journey.
• The River Severn will flow into the Bristol Channel.
