On the contrary, without a life of the spirit, our whole existence becomes unsubstantial and illusory. It does so by making us aware of our own real selves, and placing them in the presence of God.” How often I’m thankful of God’s work, through His Spirit, that pushes us towards authenticity. Frankly, we need it because the temptation to be superficial or to pose is so great that it can create a false reality. When this happens we spend so much time, energy, and money supporting the false reality but on the inside crying out for authenticity. We want it to stop but don’t know how. How wonderful God is that he wants to change our inward being. He becomes the change we desperately want to be. So may it be for you, my friends. * * * * * * * * * * * * * Welcome Dick Reese! Rev. Got spare change sitting

    around in jars?

Put it in a Baby Bottle

    for a good cause!

St. Paul is participating in a "Baby Bottle Drive" to benefit Sound Choices, formerly The Crisis Pregnancy Center of Columbus. How does it work? Well it's simple! Just pick up a baby bottle from your Sunday School Classroom or from the church workroom, fill it with spare change, and then just return your baby bottle to the Church Office no later than Sunday, September 8. Baby Bottle Campaigns are a fun way to help this important ministry provide care and counseling to women in need in our community.

It is nearly time for us to train our third graders for the office of Acolyte in the Church. We are excited about this time we will have together with your child to teach them about the church, her worship, and their place of service by being an acolyte. They will be learning about the Christian Year, the Christian Colors, lighting the candles, serving the altar, baptisms and communion. Acolyte Training will be held on Sunday afternoons from 4:30 till 5:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. They are also invited to stay for snack supper following the training. The cost for snack supper is $1. Dates for the training are: Sept. 8, 15, 22, & 29.

    ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

Please remember to bring all last month’s Sunday School Quarterlies and Christian publications to the Wesley Class to be recycled. The books will be donated to the Columbus Prison and we could never take too many. Teacher Editions may be included also. We invite you to participate in this ministry by simply recycling.

Got spare change sitting around in jars?

Put it in a Baby Bottle for a good cause!

We are excited about this time we will have together with your child to teach them about the church, her

worship, and their place of service by being an acolyte.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES Please remember to bring all last month’s Sunday School Quarterlies and Christian publications to the Wesley Class to be recycled. The books will be donated to the Columbus Prison and we could never take too many. Teacher Editions may be included also. We invite you to participate in this ministry by simply recycling.
