Dear Pavo Bapst Church Family and Friends: Grace is God’s free gi to mankind whereby He forgives and puts away our sin and brings us to Him. It is free to us, but costly to

Him as He gave His one and only Son to die for us. But, did He really have to do that? Yes! Because of His love for us, He knew He had toand He willingly laid down His life to pay for our sins. Easter is the me of year in which we are specically reminded of God’s Atonementfor sin on the Cross, and His Resurrecon power.

Sadly, many frustrate the gi of Christ’s Grace. First, there are those who listen to satan tell us that we are no good because ofour sin and that Christ could never love us for what we have done. Hence, those people reject salvaon and drown in pity, pain, and spir-itual poverty.

Others try to buy themselves into God’s good Graces by doing things. They think that God has to love them more, that they de-serve God’s Grace more than anyone else because of the things they “do for God!” Those people can never be happy because they arealways trying to nd new ways to make themselves feel beer by nding things to do for God. They also make people around them un-happy and/or unworthy because they make others feel that they are holier than anyone else.

Then, there are those who frustrate God’s Grace by doing things to get more grace. They are like a child who acts up in order toget aenon from others. Albeit, it is usually negave aenon in the form of discipline, but they get it anyway. Many professing Chris-ans do this by choosing to sin so God will love them more. Romans 5 and 6 deals with this and clearly tells us that we ought not sin to getmore Grace. In that case, Grace ceases.

Sadly, today’s trend is to deny that choice-behaviors are not sin at all. Some of those people even claim to be Chrisans. Whilepreparing for this column and for Easter messages, etc., a song connued to inhabit in my mind: “No Other Word for Grace But Amazing.”

Yes! I even sang it in my head. While researching the author’s thoughts behind the song, I was shocked to discover that the author, a well

-known Chrisan singer, had accepted an alternave lifestyle and that he is now embracing that lifestyle, yet sll claiming to be a believer.God’s Word clearly tells us that those who accept what God calls “sin” and pracce it cannot go to heaven. (Gals. 5:21) We must pray forthe salvaon of those who call God a liar by calling clean what He calls unclean.

Let’s not frustrate God’s Grace. Accept it! Enjoy it! Live it! And share it!
