The process of re-editing the front page, contents page anddouble page spread of my Music Magazine

After receiving feedback after posting my front page, contents page and double page spread onto ‘Blogger.com’ I made a few changes to each page and have presented as a step-by-step guide as I had done with the developing of them.

Front Page

With the front page, I firstly moved the masthead up to free up space and show more of the main image. And moved the dateline with it, and the coverlines. Then I removed the freebee part because I had not placed a freebee on the front page. Also, I had to move the main coverline up because the Photoshop brush effect behind it was on the same layer as one of the letters – for some reason.

Then I figured out how to remove the Photoshop brush effect that was on the same layer as one of the letters – I done this by using the ‘Triangular Marquee’ tool around the brush effect and pressed delete – once it was gone I had to place it back on to the page, but upon doing this it came out brighter than before – this is because it is now on a separate layer – and I also moved the Photoshop brush effect and the writing for the main cover line to the bottom of the page, I done this because it freed up more space and didn’t cover the image up as much.

Then I added more cover lines, I done this to make it more interesting and to intrigued people to read it and read the magazine in general.

After that I moved the pull quote lower down the page – so it freed up more space – and made it a bit larger, I also placed a black border around the writing – to make it stand out more – I done this by using the ‘Triangular Marquee’ tool and using the ‘Paint Bucket’ tool to fill it in black.

Then I added the name ‘Minx’ above the pull quote – because it is what she said – I used the front off ‘Dafont.com’ which I have used before, and done the same thing with the pull quote and added a border – but this time in green, so it stood out.

And finally, I added the price and the web address to the page, I placed it underneath the dateline and done it in the same style as the dateline.

Contents Page

With the front page I had to organise the titles into sections, features and regulars, firstly I sorted out what I wanted to be a feature and what I wanted to be a regular and placed them into different sections.

Then I added the titles ‘Features’ and ‘Regulars’ which I used with a font from ‘Dafont.com’ and placed a border around them – as I did for the front page, I used the same method.

Double Page Spread

With the double page spread all I had to do was add captions, which I done with a font from Photoshop and changed the colour to green.
