Dermatopathology Subspecialty Core Group 7th PDS Dermatopathology Review and Self-Assessment Course held in RITM

The course was designed to be an overview of the histologic features of common cutaneous inflammatory dermatoses and neoplasms with emphasis on

the criteria for diagnosis and differentiating points among conditions with similar histologic features. Clinicopathologic correlation was emphasized.

Interactive format was used for discussion of the conditions to be reviewed. This was followed by slide viewing sessions by the attendees under the

supervision of the facilitating dermatopathologists.

Its core members served as reactors to clinicopathological cases in several PDS CMEs Partnered with UERM CME last July 2013

Dermatologic Surgery Subspecialty Core Group Handled the Pre-Convention Congress last Nov. 6, 2013, with the theme: Cosmetic Dermatology: A Science”

Immunodermatology Subspecialty Core Group Its core members were invited as lecturers/reactors in the series of PDS-CME activities Co-hosted “ECHO of SCF Photodermatology in the Tropics Postgraduate Course and Workshop”, PDS Monthly CME last November 5, 2013 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ortigas Center, Manila.

The PDS Committee on Website is responsible for maintaining the website, optimizing the web page design for ease of use, attractiveness and keeping the content updated and relevant for the benefit of the PDS members and the general public.

Redesigned of the PDS website - The new PDS Website www.pds.org.ph was launched on June 1, 2013. At least 400 members have already registered in the PDS Website.

Initiated the creation of the PDS App for mobile phones – for PDS members and the Filipino populace – reinforce the role of PDS as the authority on skin affairs

Chia, chief resident of the Department of Dermatology of the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, was awarded the Maria Duran Fellowship of the International Society of Dermatology. She was privileged to present her research paper, entitled “Relapse rate among smear-positive leprosy cases after 12 blister packs and 24 blister packs of multibacillary drug therapy in a tertiary hospital” at the Maria Duran Symposium of the XI International Congress of Dermatology & 42nd Annual Conference of IADVL in New Delhi, India.
