ock music is a genre of popular music that developed during and a� er the 1960s, particularly in the United Kingdom and the United States. It has its roots in 1940s and 1950s rock and roll, itself heavily in� u-enced by rhythm and blues and country music. Rock music also drew stron-gly on a number of other genres such as blues and folk, and incorporated in� uences from jazz, classi-cal and other musical sources. Musically, rock has centred around the electric guitar, usually as part of a rock group with bass guitar and drums. Typically, rock is song-based music

with a 4/4 beat utilizing a verse-chorus form, but the genre has become ext-remely diverse and common musical characteristics are di� cult to de� ne.

‚� is beat is the soundtrack to my life. It‘s one of the things that

made me who i am today. I listen to music all day. When I get up, the � rst thing I do, is to start up my macbook and play a

song.When i‘m leaving the house, my ipod is already

running. � ats why, when I had to invent a logo and name for my own brand, I knew I had to put a part of Rock ‘n Roll in there. � is is the � rst rea-son why the brand is named nroll.‘

kateboarding was probably born sometime in the late 1940s or early 1950s when surfers in California wan-ted something to surf when the waves were � at. No one knows who made the � rst board. It seems that several people came up with similar ideas at around the same time. � ese � rst skateboarders started with wooden bo-xes or boards with roller skate wheels attached to the bottom. � e boxes turned into planks, and eventually companies were producing decks of pressed lay-ers of wood. ‘� at‘s where it started 10 years ago. I got a skateboard for my bir-thday. A low-quality board made out of

plastic and with giant wheels on it. As soon as I coud barely stand on it, I ins-tantly felt the love. I quit all other sports I did at that time and started to skate

every day. A� er a few years I got my � rst pc and started to spend

more time exploring the In-ternet. � ats when me and my board lost contact. But hen we met up again, a year ago, it was better

than ever before. Now I skate whenever I can. I love

the feeling just to roll down the street. � ats why, when I had to invent a logo and a name for my own brand, I knew I had to put a part of Skateboar-ding in there. � is is the second reason the brand is named nroll.‘

who the fuck is alice?-------

Iam Torben Fischer and I live in Arnhem in the Netherlands. Born in a small village

in the south of Germany, I knew early how important it is to travel and see the world. � at‘s among others one reason why i moved to Holland three months ago. I study Communication and Multimedia Design at the HAN in Arnhem. I really like to create things and that is why I chose this path. I‘m always inte-rested in new things and I want to learn something new every day. I try to get the most out of life

and enjoy every moment.Because I don‘t like to follow rules I found my first love:

Skateboarding. When you‘re on a skateboard

you can do whatever you want. Nobody tells you what to or not to do. For regular people a wooden board and four wheels are probably just a wooden board and four wheels. For me they are so much more. They are free-dom, creativity and fun.

Music is also one of the things which in� uence

me the most. ‚One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.‘ (Bob Marley). Music acommpanies me whe-re ever I go and whatever I do.
