Your time on the majestic Queen Mary 2 begins in Cunard’s homeport of Southampton. London is a short distance away, so you might consider arriving a day or two early to explore the city’s famous museums, restaurants and sights.

14 JanuaryB A R C E LO N A , S PA I N

Beautiful Barcelona is a great Spanish city and one of Europe’s most exciting destinations. Stroll along lively Las Ramblas and take in the spirit of the street entertainers as you enjoy delicious tapas and a glass of local Rioja wine.

17 JanuaryAT H E N S ( P I R A E U S ) , G R E E C E

Ancient Athens boasts perhaps more landmarks than nearly any other city in Europe. Your first stop, of course, should be the Acropolis, crowned by the magnificent Parthenon and nearby amphitheatre.

19 JanuaryT R A N S I T T H E S U E Z C A N A L

Today you leave the Mediterranean by way of the Suez Canal, bound for the Red Sea. This 120-mile waterway contains no locks, allowing seawater to flow freely through the canal. As you glide closer to the Red Sea, lounge on deck and admire the African Desert to the Starboard side and the Sinai Desert to the Port side.

20 JanuaryS O K H N A , E GY P T ( F O R C A I RO / G I Z A)

Two of the many highlights of your World Voyage lie not far from Sokhna. The bustling city of Cairo awaits with sights such as the mesmerising Egyptian Museum with its mummy room. In Giza, you can visit the ancient wonders of the great pyramids and Sphinx.

21 JanuaryS A FA G A , E G Y P T ( F O R L U XO R / K A R N A K )

The main attractions of the Egyptian Red Sea port of Safaga are the nearby sites of Luxor, Karnak and the Valley of the Kings. Here along the Nile you’ll discover some of Egypt’s best preserved temples and tombs.
