FROM LAKAN…

UPG Missions Dinner. Plan to attend the

UPG (Unreached People Group) Missions Din-

ner this Friday, February 17, at 6:00 pm in

the Fellowship Hall. Our speaker, Marissa

Eugenio oversees several of the church plant-

ing teams in southern Philippines and she will

be speaking on “Turning the Harvest Field

Into a Harvest Force.”

We will decorate our tables with a western

motif and we will serve barbeque brisket and

trimmings to give Marissa a taste of West

Texas culture. Dress western. Don't miss

this Friday! Continued on page 2

From Lakan...

We, as a church, have a spe-cial role we can play in the life of the college students that are part of this church by investing in them on a personal level during their time here. One way you can do this is through adopting one or more of our students this se-mester. Adopting a student would mean you would be willing to do the following: At least once a month

feed your student (either in your home or take them out with you/your family)

Perhaps opening up your home for them to do laundry

Involving them in family activities (movies, game nights, etc.)

Inviting them to sit with you on Sunday mornings

Doing something special for them around testing times

Check up on them during the week with a call, text or email.

In general, the idea is to be willing to be involved in their lives over the course of this semester. If you are willing, or you have questions, please call me at 325-227-1778.

Ryan Connel

Marissa will also be

speaking to a com-

bined Sunday School

this Sunday on

“Purpose and Pas-

sion”. During the

worship service, she

will be speaking on

“Responding to the

Challenge of the Re-

maining Task.”

I am excited for you

to meet and hear Ma-

rissa. May our Lord

raise up people in our

church and people in

San Angelo who will

respond to the chal-

lenge of being part of

reaching the un-

reached peoples of

the world. “And this

gospel of the king-

dom will be pro-

claimed throughout

the whole world as a

testimony to all na-

tions, and then the

end will

come.” (Matthew

24:14)

“Amen. Come, Lord

Jesus!” (Revelation

22:20)

Office Computer Update Praise the Lord! Due to many hours of work by an expert

volunteer, we have now restored our membership and

contribution data up until May 23, 2011! We are so grateful for his hard work! I am now entering the contribution data from that date on. I am hoping to be up to December 31, 2011 by the end of the work week and then I will be able to begin generating Annual Contribution Receipts. Again, if you need your 2011

Contribution Receipt now, please let me know and I will get them to you as soon as possible. If you have begun attending or have joined since May 2011, it would help if you would either call or email that information to me. Then I can input all the data. Again, thanks so much for your patience and

understanding. Cindy Hickey

$11000.00 Given to Date: $6745.00

On the last Sunday of each month we receive the Lord’s supper. On that Sunday we will also ask for donations to our Agape Ministries. These ministries give us the oppor-tunity to help those in need.

With your help, we can provide food boxes as well as supplying needed clothing, and help in other areas.

Please bring canned and/or non-perishable items with you as you come to worship with us Sunday, February 26th. There will be a box in the foyer where you may place your items.

You may also give a special offering to these ministries by placing it in the offering plate marked Agape.

Of course you are welcome to bring canned goods/non-perishables by the church office anytime!

“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:17-18
