Course Description

Broaden and deepen your knowledge of how to produce world-class temporary exhibitions.

This one-week intensive course provides a unique opportunity for museum professionals from all over the world to come together to share knowledge. You will be guided through real-life cases from recent V&A exhibitions, exploring all the practical aspects associated with developing temporary exhibitions of all sizes, from conception to delivery.

All the teaching is delivered by experts from the V&A and includes a mixture of talks and hands-on workshops to deliver an in-depth and practical learning experience. Joined by an experienced cohort of international peers, you’ll work through each phase including concept development, design, construction and object installation, through to press, marketing and digital campaigns.

Participants are invited to share examples of projects from their institutions to provide a range of international perspectives.

“The variety, curatorial excellence and scholarly rigor of V&A’s exhibitions attracts millions of visitors to the Museum every year. From major blockbuster shows through to temporary collection displays, our exhibitions and accompanying events cater to a diverse audience that return to the V&A time and time again. The Museum has developed outstanding professional skill set across its departments and honed the complex process of staging an exhibition. We look forward to sharing our experience with colleagues from museums around the world. ”Dr Tristram Hunt, Director
