Basic Troubleshooting & General Navigation Tips
A. First Bankcard Connect is a separate application than the Learning Center & has a time out of 10
minutes of inactivity. This time starts from the minute a user enters First Bankcard Connect.
i. Timeline: If the user does not navigate to the desired center immediately, the time out
message may seem as if it appeared quicker than 10 minutes.
ii. FBC Connect: To avoid any time out issues or pop up messages with First Bankcard
Connect, a user may choose to log out of FBC Connect after opening all desired centers
as they run in their own browser window separate from Connect.
B. A time out message will pop up during the user’s training if the 10 minutes of inactivity time has
been reached for First Bankcard Connect. The user has 60 seconds to stay connected to First
Bankcard Connect or will be automatically logged out and taken back to FBC Connect login
screen.
i. Stay Connected: if the user clicks this option, their training should not be disrupted
ii. Log Out: if the user clicks this option, the training will be disrupted as they will be taken
to the login screen for First Bankcard Connect
iii. 60 Seconds runs down: if the user does nothing, the training will be disrupted as they
will be logged out of First Bankcard Connect automatically and taken to the login screen
C. If a user is moved from the training module screen due to First Bankcard Connect logging out,
they may locate the module in the background and continue on. The Learning Center and
training module open in independent windows and are not linked to the time out of First
Bankcard Connect.
i. Navigation Options: To toggle between open windows in IE or Chrome, select CTRL +
SHIFT + TAB or to toggle between open applications, select ALT + TAB
D. The training modules should play in any browser; however, it is imperative to remove all pop up
blockers as the modules do open in brand new windows.
i. Browsers: It is also strongly suggested to have the most up to date browsers, such as
Internet Explorer 11 or the latest version of Google Chrome. If using an outdated
browser, the training modules may have trouble opening or playing.
ii. Format: The training modules are published in HTML 5 format which will allow for the
modules to play in any browser however, there may be some variances in the output.

After launching the Learning Center from First Bankcard Connect, it will open in a new browser window
independent of FBC Connect. PLEASE NOTE: Image below is from an Internet Explorer tool bar, other
browsers may vary in appearance.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: First Bankcard Connect will time out after 10 minutes of inactivity; however
the Learning Center will remain open and active for up to 4 hours of inactivity. The user’s training
modules should not be disrupted if First Bankcard Connect times out. However, if the user experiences
the below time out message while completing training, the training module may be pushed to the
background. The user can retrieve the module from the background and continue with the course.

Locating the Training Modules

the user will find the training modules that have been assigned to them. They can be located in “Your
Action Items” or within the “My Transcript” section.
To start a training module, click “Launch” under the Action column for the specific training the user
wishes to begin.
After selecting “Launch”, the training module will open in a new window.

After the module moves forward, the user will experience a timing wheel, indicating that the module is
close to opening:
The training module will open in a separate window from the Learning Center. If the training module
does not pop up in a new window, ensure that the browser “Pop Up Blockers” are disabled.

Completing the Training Module

within the course to complete the training
module.
