Call for Entries from Students / Professional Artists Digital Entries Submission

Resolution: Digital Images of Actual Exhibits must be 2100 pixels in width(horizontal Images) or 2100 pixels in height(vertical images) not larger than 3000 pixels in width or height. Example: A digital image measuring 5 x 7 inches at 300 dpi(dots per inch)wold be 1500 pixels x 2100 pixels.

File Format: Images must be in JPEG format(with a .jpg extension). Save the images at maximum quality with a s l i t t l e compres s ion a s pos s ib l e . F i l e names mus t i nc lude t he Ar t i s t ’s name , Category(Painting/Sculpture/Graphics/Drawing)Title of exhibit, Dimension(in inches with Height first) and medium used to create the art work. Also include price in Indian Rupees.

Media: Send your Digital Images on a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM only. CD and DVD must be labeled with Name, Mobile/Phone Number of the Artist, Number of Images submitted in each category, Amount paid. Please use permanent marker to label your disk. Do not use adhesive stickers or labels on disk. To protect your CD/DVD,put it in Plastic Case and use Padded or cardboard envelope when delivering the same. Your entry be submitted with duly filled Schedule and a DD of Total Amount of Entry Fee for the total number of Entries entered in. DD should be in favor of “The Bombay Art Society” Maximum of TWO entries in each category is acceptable. Entry submitted in person can be with cash or DD.

ELIGIBILITYOpen to all artists of Indian nationality, working in any style.

ENTRYEach participant can submit TWO entries in every category (Not more than two in each category) Entries to be submitted at first in CD / DVD. Photograph should have Fine Art value and frame. It should be printed on Archival paper or Canvas. Number of editions and signature of the photographer is compulsory on the selected print for final display. Society reserved the rights to called a RAW file of selected entry if required.

SIZE:Minimum - 18 x 18 inch. Maximum - 48 X 48 inch including frame size in case of painting, drawing and graphic. Photograph Minimum - 12 x18inch. Maximum - 36 x 48 inch. Sculpture in 24”x 24”x 48” height & should not occupy more than 16 cubic Feet in volume and should not exceed more than 40 kg. in weight for stone and 50 kg. in weight for metal sculpture

ACCEPTANCE:a) The Digital entries in CD / DVD or Photographs of 5”x7” of each image (for Sculpture images of all four sides has to be submitted) will be accepted along with schedule and entry fees by cash / DD in person and DD ONLY by Post / Courier, from 1st Dec. 2017 to 25th Dec. 2017 (Except Sunday) between 12 noon to 6.00 p.m. at the office of The Bombay Art Society, Opp. Ranga Sharda, K. C. Marg, Bandra Reclamation, Bandra (W), Mumbai -400 050. Tel.: 022 26513466b) Incomplete schedule will not be accepted.c) Once the selection from Digital Entries is done the participants will be informed to send the ACTUAL EXHIBITS at The Bombay Art Society, Rang Sharda, Bandra (W), Mumbai - 400050.d) Selected Exhibits will be accepted strictly at the participant’s own risk and expenses. Society will not be liable for any damages or loss of Art works, though Society takes utmost care of exhibits.e) Sculpture or painting executed using any fragile materials, (Glass Framing, Plaster, Terra cotta,

0 Ceramic) and contain noxious or toxic substances, have inflammability Below 50 C or incorporate dangerous electrical appliances will not be accepted.f) Actual Exhibit which varies substantially from the image shown is likely to be rejected. g) Selected exhibits should be submitted personally or through representative during scheduled period and place or can be sent via Railway, Air, Roadways parcel courier service at your own risk. The Bombay Art Society will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the Art Work.h) Students will be required to produce bona-fide certificate issued by the educational institute to which they belong.I) Society will have full right to refuse entry without stating any reason whatsoever.

5) Actual Exhibit which varies substantially from the image shown is likely to be rejected.

6) Selected exhibits should NOT be sent by railway, air or roadways parcel courier services, but should be personally handed or through representative only.

7) Students will be required to produce bona-fide certificate issued by the educational institute to which they belong.

8) Selected entries are to be collected positively from THE BOMBAY ART SOCIETY on the last day ofth th

the exhibition i.e. on the 6 March 2018 between 6.00 p.m to 8.00 p.m or before 30 March 2018. between office hours except Bank holidays and Sundays. Society will not be responsible after the above mentioned period.

9) Managing committee reserves the rights for not displaying any disputable exhibit.

10) The original Artwork will be returned only after producing the receipt.

SELECTION PROCEDUREApplicant will be required to send a CD having images of five best of their works executed during the last two calendar years in ‘JPEG’ format, with particulars of themselves and their career, in the prescribed Application form, which will not be returned to the applicant.

All the applications and the CDs received will be scrutinized by a special committee, Judging Committee’s decision in the selection of award shall be final. No correspondence shall be entertained in this regard. The recipient of this scholarship is not qualified for the same again.

The final decision for the award will be taken on merit-cum-means basis.

The awardees will receive their cheque at the inauguration of The Bombay Art Society’s coming annual show, where they will be invited to exhibit one work each, in the invitee category.

Scholarships known as LALIBAI DHARAMDAS BHAMBHANI SCHOLARSHIP of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Donated by Late Shri.
