Self-Hate Every day millions of young girls

wake up literally hating the image that they see in the mirror.

The images that they see on T.V. and in magazines all give them a warp idea of what is beautiful and desirable.

As early as 10 years old some girls are already thinking about getting plastic surgery because they feel they are unpretty.

They believe that less clothes, big boobs, and a tiny waist is the American dream.

When really the reality is they ARE beautiful and those images they see are all photoshoped, and edited to sell a product.

Eating Disorders There are between 5-10 million

girls who suffer from eating disorders.

1 in 100 American women binges & purges to lose weight.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, roughly 1 out of every 25 girls and women will have anorexia in their lifetime. Most will deny that they have an eating disorder.

It is estimated that 40% of nine year olds have already dieted and we are beginning to see four and five year olds expressing the need to diet.

Self Injury There’s a horrible cycle that occurs

with low self-esteem, and self injury is a start of one.

Majority of people who self-injury are women between the ages of 13-30

90% of self injurers begin cutting as teenagers.

The average self injurer begins at age 14 and continues with increasing severity into her late twenties.

Most people who self injure are not trying to commit suicide, instead using self injury as a coping mechanism.

More than half of self injurers are victims of abuse, and most report emotionally abusive or neglectful childhoods.

Sexually Abuse 1 in 6 women will be sexually

assaulted 15% of sexual assault & rape

victims are under age 12. 29% are between 12-17.

46% of rape victims under 12 are with family relatives.
