THE HAWAII TRIP 2014

• We go to Hawaii to look at tourism in an overseas setting – a focus for year 13 Geo

THIS RELATES TO THE ACHIEVEMENT STANDARD AS 91427 OR 3.2

• This achievement standard involves demonstrating understanding of how a cultural process shapes geographic environment(s).

• In Year 13 Geography our cultural Process is Tourism development and we study Rotorua and Hawaii. We also use the information for the internal assessment 3.7 looking at the global pattern of tourism

• So … What will we be doing ???

WE DO A ‘ROUND THE ISLAND’ TOUR

WE VISIT TOURIST SPOTS

WE SEE HISTORIC SITES

WE VISIT FAMOUS BEACHES; WAIMEA BAY, HANAUMA BAY, PIPELINE, SUNSET, WAIKIKI

WE EAT !

WE SHOP

WE LEARN

WE EXPERIENCE TOURISM IN A DIFFERENT SETTING

THERE IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT THE ACTIVE VOLCANOES TOO

WHAT DOES IT COST ???

• The cost includes;

• Flights

• Accommodation

• All transfers and transport as a group

• Dinner money each night

• Entry to all attractions

• Total cost is expected to be approx $3000 depending on currency fluctuations (2012 = $3050 )
