The Genius of Ford- Classic Cars: It’s been more than a century now; Ford is one of the most prominent names in cars. In 1903, Ford Motor Company was founded by Henry Ford and since then Ford cars are widely used among people. It is the most trusted brand name in the world of cars. Ford’s classic cars are still in very high demand despite the fact that classic cars lack many safety features and advanced technology. But car lovers use car restoration process in order to maintain these cars, i-e to repair classical cars with their original parts only. There is always a lot of headwork behind any success. In early years Ford produced models chronologically, but model T was a major success. By 1920 their sales exceeded one million a year and half of the cars in United States were model T. There was no looking back for Ford Motor Company although these new innovations were taking employees away from ford, the number of turnovers increased as employees couldn’t match the level of creativity and innovation. But a solution to this problem was found soon, pays were doubled and working hours were reduced. In 1928, Ford lost its market share to GM and Chrysler, as these competitors were more innovative and flexible while Ford still had old management system and it didn’t pay any heed to customer preferences. To counter this new challenge Ford discontinued Model T and redesigned Model A. During the World War II, the company again faced many challenges. Henry Ford was unable to stay in direct contact with his factories in Germany. But since Henry Ford was always on good terms with the Nazis, they didn’t nationalize his company. As it proved the safety measures, Ford received a ‘Car of the Year’ award in 1956. The major success classic car of Ford includes: Mustang, Fiesta, Zephyr, Mexico, Sierra, Escort and Turbo. Mustang is a sports car; in 1964 it debuted in car racing. It won many car racing competitions. It is one of those valued classic cars that are still in high demand by the public. Ford has been always on the stop list of car fanatics, its classic cars are for sale even today when technology and advancement have touched new heights. In 2011, 5% of the shares are still with the Ford family. Over years Ford is also criticized much for its high price cars, exploitative models and violence against staff. But Ford managed to counter all these hardships with courage and kept on growing.
