S.O 727(E)-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-paragraph (1) of paragraph 9 of the Drugs (Prices Control)Order, 1995, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the order of the Government of India in theMinistry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (Department of Chemicals and Petro-Chemicals) No. S.O. 573(E) dated 20-8-1996,namely

(A) under the heading "MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE (KRISHIMANTRALAYA)",-

(i) under the sub-heading "A. DEPARTMENT OFAGRICULTURE AND COOPERATION (KRISHI AURSAHKARITA VIBHAG)", entry 6 shall be omitted;

(ii) under the sub-heading "B. DEPARTMENT OFAGRICULTURAL RESEARCH AND EDUCATION(KRISHI ANUSANDHAN AUR SHIKSHA VIBHAG)",for the existing entries 2,3,8 and 12,the following entries shall respectivelybe substituted, namely:-

III RADIO

6. All business connected with All India Radioembracing news services in the homeprogrammes, programmes for the foreigncountries and Indians overseas, radiojournals, research in the field ofbroadcasting engineering, monitoring offoreign broadcasts, programme exchange andtranscription services, supply of communityreceiving sets to State Governments under thecommunity listening scheme, etc.

7. Development of radio Broadcasting throughoutthe Union, installation and maintenance ofRadio Stations and Transmitters and operationof broadcasting services.

IV. DOORDARSHAN

8. All business connected with Doordarshanconcerning production, selection, import,export and telecast of television programmesincluding news, telefeature films, etc.

9. Exchange including cultural exchange oftelevision programmes.

10. Commercial advertisements and sponsoredprogrammes on Doordarshan.

11. Development of television throughout theUnion, including installation, maintenanceand operation of television ProgrammeProduction Centres and Transmitters, andoperation of television services.

12. Promotion of production of televisionprogrammes outside Doordarshan.

V. FILMS

13. Legislation under entry 60 of the Union List,viz., 'Sanctioning of Cinematograph films forexhibition'.

14 Administration of Cinematograph Act, 1952 (37of 1952).

15. Import of feature and short films fortheatrical and non-theatrical viewing.

16. Export of Indian films, both feature andshort films.

17. Import of unexposed cinematograph films andvarious types of equipment required by thefilm industry.


18. All matters relating to film Industry,including developmental and promotionalactivities thereto.

19. Promotion of good cinema by institution ofState awards for films produced in India andassistance through the National FilmDevelopment Coporation Limited.

20. Production and distribution of documentariesand newsreels and other films and film stripsfor internal and external publicity.

21. Grants-in-aid to the National Centre of Filmsfor Children and Young People, Film andTelevision Institute of India, pune, andSatyajit Ray Film and Television Institute,Calcutta.

22. Preservation of films and filmic materialsincluding all activities of the NationalFilms Archives of India.

23. Organisation of International Film Festivalsin India and participation of India inInternational Film Festivals abroad.

24. Organisation of Film Festivals under CulturalExchange Programmes.

25. Film society movement.

VI. ADVERTISING AND VISUAL PUBLICITY

26. Production and release of all displayadvertisements of the Government of Indiathrough the media of press, posters, folders,calendars, blotters, leaflets, holdings,cinema slides, etc. and also release ofclassified advertisements on behalf of theGovernment of India.

VII. PRESS

27. Presentation and interpretation of thepolicies and activities of the Government ofIndia through the medium of the press.

VIII. PUBLICATIONS

33. Production, sale and distribution of popularpamphlets, books and journals on matters ofnational importance for internal as well asexternal publicity, with a view to impartingto the general public at home and abroad uptodate and correct information about India.

IX. RESEARCH AND REFERENCE

34. To assist the Media Units of the Ministry ofInformation and Broadcasting (Soochana aurPrasaran Mantralaya) in collection,compilation and preparation of materialinvolving research into published works,etc.

35. Building up of a compendium of knowledge onimportant subjects and to prepare guidanceand background notes on current and othertopics for the use of the Media Units of theMinistry.

(ii) grant of scholarships in scientific subjectsto students in Universities and othereducational institutions and other forms offinancial aid to individuals including thosegoing abroad for studies in nuclear sciences;and

(i) matters relating to atomic energy and nuclearsciences in the United Nations SpecialisedAgencies, the International Atomic EnergyAgency, other International ScientificOrganisations including the EuropeanOrganisation for Nuclear Research (CERN)and relations with other countries; and

(ii) correspondence with institutions,Universities, etc. abroad in connection withforeign fellowships and the training ofIndian Scientists.

5. All matters relating to personnel under thecontrol of the Department of Atomic Energy(Parmanu Oorja Vibhag).

6. Execution of works and purchase of land debitableto the capital budget of the Department of AtomicEnergy (Parmanu Oorja Vibhag).

7. Procurement of stores and equipment required bythe Department of Atomic Energy {Parmanu OorjaVibhag).
