If we are interested in the future of the Libraries, we need take a look at the past and the present.
To do it, we need realise that exist a strong relationship between the BOOK and the LIBRARY.
For many centuries the books, and the documents, on paper, had been the
knowledge containers.
Both of them had been as a CLOSED BOOK.

Yes, the first one is in black and white and the second one in color :-)
So is normail that Internet seems better than a library
Librarian Point of View: People = Users Users->need Information->go to the
Library
People Point of View: I need Information->go to a PC->search on
They had incorporated new technologies.
But the traditional libraries are too much TRADITIONAL.
Because of the Computers and Internet development in the last years .
THE TIMES ARE CHANGING: Libraries and Librarians
MUST CHANGE TOO
Be accessible = using Internet
Be simple and easy to use = like Google
Be opened and alow the possiblity of interaction = Libraries 2.0 and 3.0
The Digital Libraries CAN MAKE REAL A NEW LIBRARY AGE
The same level: WWW
The same opportunities than Google
The same powerful tools
And the most important
The people could achieve it Wherever Whenever However Whatever Whoever
• The libraries could achieve their abilities and possitions:
cultural places learning centre quality management information information literacy programmes
and also continuing being
KNOWLEDGE GUARDIANS

Text: online books, digitized book, papers, articles…
Videos: documentals, TV, films…
Sounds: audiobooks, radio, music…
As the EUROPEANA project that is an integration of the digitized resource from european libraries, museum and archives!!
