This same spirit was shown by Edwardes College Peshawar, when in the history of the college first time the bliss of Christmas was shared with other faiths people. A prestiguous Christmas Carol Programme was arranged by the college on 19 th December, 2015. The Governor of KPK, Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi was the Chief Guest. The Rt. Revd. Humphrey S. Peters, Bishop of KPK was the eminent guest and prominent members of other faith communities also graced the occasion. The Clergy of Peshawar Diocese, Heads of the Institutions, parents of Christian students, Edwardes Faculty and their families were among the honoured guests. A Christmas cake was cut by the Governor, the Bishop and the Principal of the college, to share the joy of the Christmas. The Christmas tree was lit by the Governor. Spirit filled carols were sung by the Edwardes College SCM Choir, and remembering the departed souls of the 2013 All Saints’ Church blast and 2014 Army Public School Peshawar terrorist attack, a heartfelt tribute was presented. The Christmas message was delivered by the Rt. Revd. Humphrey S. Peters, sharing the spirit of Christmas and purpose of Jesus’ coming in the world. Word of thanks was shared by the Principal, Prof. Dr. Brig (Rtd). Nayyer Firdous, appreciating the efforts of all the Christian faculty, staff, and administration staff of the Edwardes College Peshawar. This joyous program ended by a Christmas dinner. . “Christmas comes but once a year”, is a very famous quote and its equally true. It brings the message of love, hope, faith and sacrifice to whole humanity. It’s a time of celebration and happiness and togetherness. This same spirit was shown by Edwardes College Peshawar, when in the history of the college first time the bliss of Christmas was shared with other faiths people.

Keeping the old tradition of Edwardes College Peshawar, a nine lesson carol service was conducted on 20th December, 2015.The Rt. Revd. Humphrey S. Peters was the Chief Guest. Christmas carols were sung by Edwardes College SCM. Nine biblical lessons were read by the nine different students. The Christian Faculty, staff and the families of staff and students were among the honourable guests. The opening prayer was offered by Prof. Taj Masih. The Bishop delivered the Christmas message and shared the meaning and purpose of Jesus’ coming into this world, death on the cross and His resurrection. The Principal Prof. Dr. Brig ( Rtd) NayyerFirdous shared the word of thanks, thus encouraging the Faculty, staff, students for their tremendous efforts in arranging and conducting the service. The staff advisor Prof. Taj Mssih shared his thoughts with the guests and thanked the Principal and Mrs. Nayyer Firdous for their remarkable work, and efforts for organizing this service. Ms. Nadia Hannah Dass, Lecturer in Chemistry offered the closing prayer. Refreshments were served at the end of the programme.

Annual Day of the Elizabeth Girls High School, Peshawar was held in the 2nd last week of December, 2015. The Rt. Revd. Humphrey S. Peters along with his Clergy and Diocesan Officers was invited to witness the programme. The parents and siblings were all invited at the occasion.

Nowadays, Elizabeth Girls High School is one of the very few educational institutions who pay attention character building of its students and highly promote co-curricular activities to enhance confidence level of both the students and the teachers.

The children from Prep class to 7th, all participated with traditional zeal, a trade mark of the School.

The audience clapped to every skit, song, and drama, and highly appreciated the skills of the children and hard work of the teachers.

The Rt. Revd. Humphrey S. Peters in his brief speech praised the efforts of the children and the staff and said “ I am highly satisfied with the direction school has taken under the leadership of Mrs. Afreen Sarfraz, Principal, and Mrs. Edwin Rosaline who work tirelessly to uplift the academic standards of the school and have brought professionalism in the conduct of the teachers”. “I hope and pray that they keep up the good work”, he added.

Advent is a season observed as a

time of expectant waiting and

preparation for the celebration of

the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas.

The term is a version of the Latin

word meaning "coming". In

Christian theology it’s the coming or

second coming of Christ. The season

offers the opportunity to share in the

ancient longing for the coming of

Messiah, and to be alert for his

Second coming.

The first season of the Christian

church year, leading up to Christmas

and including the four preceding

Sundays, An advent wreath is also

kept in the churches and four candles

are lit each Sunday.

The four Sundays were celebrated by

different church groups: the first

Sunday was conducted by

All Saints’ Youth Group on 29th

November, 2015. Various skits and

carols were sung.

The second Sunday was conducted by Women Fellowship on 6th

December, 2015. Christmas carols were sung, a skit was performed which was narrated by Mrs. Nassem Dass and performed by Mrs. Joyce Ashkar, and partners. The Revd. Shahzad Murad shared the message among the congregation.

Third Sunday was conducted by Junior Church on 13th Dec, 2015.Performed a nativity skit and sung songs.

The Fourth Sunday was Manger Sunday on 20th Dec, 2015 was conducted by the Priest incharge Rev. Rasheed

On 24thDecember 2015, a midnight service was

conducted at All Saints’ Church Peshawar. A

Christmas cake was cut by the Rt. Revd.

Humphrey S. Peters along with the Clergy and

lay men present and a young boy dressed as

Santa. In his message the Bishop highlighted the

coming and Second coming of Jesus Christ. “We

are the ambassadors of Jesus Christ in this

world and His living witnesses”. He said.

“Peace, Harmony and reconciliation should be

our efforts to expend the mission of Christ”.

The Bishop added.

The Christmas cake was distributed among the congregation after celebrating Holy Communion.

A Memorial Service to commemorate the martyrs of Army Public School, Peshawar was held at St. John’s Cathedral Church . At this special Ecumenical Service prayers were offered for the departed souls and their families were consoled through this sincere show off solidarity with the affectees of the tragic but barbaric incident. At this occasion, the Rt. Revd. Humphrey S. Peters , along with the Revd. Joseph John led the service. All the Faith Friends members, including; Qari Rooh Ullah, Professor, Dr. Abdul Ghafoor , Fakhar Ul Hassan Kararvi, Haroon Serb Diyal, Charan Jeet Singh and Allama Maqsood Salafi participated in the service to mark the event. Later on, all the people present at the occasion litcandles on a stage set in front of the Diocese of Peshawar Gate to honour the martyrs of the Army Public School, Peshawar.

Dec. 2015. Hundreds of children from various parishes and Diocesan Schools participated in the Kids Game and enjoyed themselves by the opportunity provided by the people who like children.

At this occasion the Revd. Patrick Naeem, Diocesan Secretary was the Chief Guest, who inaugurated the programme and in his speech highly appreciated efforts of the organizers, and later on spent some time with the children who presented skits and carols to mark the day .
