The Friends of English Avenue Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Introduction Mark Olsen is a banker associate for J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Atlanta.

Outside of his time spent at work, Mark Olsen is involved with The Friends of English Avenue, an organization seeking to beautify urban areas of Atlanta.

The Friends of English Avenue became incorporated as a project within the community in 2009. It is dedicated to improving the look of the community through urban gardening and was created in memory of English Avenue resident Kathryn Johnston. The overall goal of the project is to make the neighborhood a safer and more beautiful place to live.

The Friends of English Avenue celebrated its tenth anniversary in November 2016. Among the various celebrations included remembrance of Kathryn Johnston at the Lindsay Street Baptist Church, along with remarks made by the founder also in remembrance of Johnston. The actual anniversary took place on November 17 at the church with a town hall meeting and a candlelight vigil.
