The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities

The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities is considered to be one of the oldest, most famous, and largest museums in the world.  The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities has a long history that dates back to the year 1825 when Mohamed Ali Pasha, the ruler of Egypt at the time, issued a decree to establish a museum for the antiquities of Egypt and the first location of the museum was in front of the Azabakeya Lake, between the squares of Opera and Atabba today.

The Coptic Museum in Cairo is located inside the ruins of the Roman Babylon Fort in Maser El Qadema in Coptic Cairo Center, an area which is full of Coptic Churches and chapels like the famous hanging Church and the Church of St Barbra.

The National Museum of Alexandria

The museum is located in the Horeya Street and. The building of the museum was the residence of a former wood trading business man, Asa'ad Basily, who constructed his villa which was built over an area of 3480 meters in the Italian style. The palace was a popular gathering place for many of the high level people in the 30s and 40s of the last century.

The Luxor Museum

The Luxor Museum is located on the East Bank of the River Nile in the city of Luxor in a very attractive location between Karnak Temple in the North and Luxor Temple in the South. The building of the museums 55 meters long and 29 meters wide. The facade of the Luxor museum was designed to face the Nile.

The Nubian Museum

The area of Nubia is located between Aswan to the North and the city of Debba in Sudan to the South. It is strange that the name "Nubia" was never mentioned in the ancient Egyptian language and it was first mentioned in the book called "Geographica" that was written by the Greek historian, Strapon, who visited Nubia in the first century AD. The word Nubia is said to be derived from the word "Nebo', or the mines of gold which Nubia was famous for in ancient times.

Together with the modern art museum in the Opera House, the Mahmoud Mukhtar Museum, and the Gezira art center, Mahmoud Khalil Museum is the most notable because of the unique selection of art works that it hosts.
