“The Fallas Festival is not only a dazzling festival declared more than 50 years ago such as “Fiesta of International Tourist Interest”. Las Fallas is an event that involves thousands of people and a whole city with preparations all year long”.

Note: please notice that during the Fallas Festival there will be many streets closed to traffic. There would be crowds all over the city. It is a popular festival for all. It is a walking around festival, so bring with you the most comfortable shoes you may have and lots of patience. Enjoy Valencia and enjoy LAS FALLAS.

FALLES 2016 - PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

FEBRUARY 5th (Friday) At 08:00 p.m. Opening ceremony of the Ninot Exhibition in the Science Museum of the Cily of Arts & Sciences complex in the old riverbed of the Turia River. After the ceremony fireworks will be displayed. The Ninot Exhibition will be open daily from 10 am to 8 pm till March 15th 2016. FEBRUARY 6th (Saturday) At 12:00 p.m. Presentation of the 2016 Fallas Official Book as well as the different activities that will be held in the Ninot Exhibition during its opening time. The event will be in the Science Museum of the City of Arts & Sciences complex in the old riverbed of the Turia River. FEBRUARY 28th (Sunday) At 07.30 a.m. Despertà (awakening sound fireworks) from Paz street to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square). At 12.30 p.m. Music Band Parade from the Plaza de la Virgen towards the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square) several music bands march playing typical pasodobles. The parade finishes approximately at a quarter to 2 p.m. and at that time all the bands will play together the Pasodoble “El Fallero” (the Fallas anthem) At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square). At 8.00 p.m. Cridà. La Crida marks the official opening of the Fallas Festival. Crowds of viewers and all the Fallas Committees gather beneath the Serranos Towers, one of historical Valencia's best-known monuments. MARCH 4th (Friday) At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square). MARCH 5th (Saturday) At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square). At 06.00 p.m. Ninot Parade . Itinerary: Departing from La Glorieta, along La Paz street and San Vicente towards the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and passing by the City Hall main entrance to Marqués de Sotelo street. At midnight it will be displayed a Night Mascletà (fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square). MARCH 6th (Sunday) At 11.00 a.m. Cant de l’Estoreta Parade (children traditional parade representing the origin of Las Fallas Festivals) in the Plaza del Carmen (Carmen square).

At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square). At 03.30 p.m. First day of the OFRENDA (Flower offering) to the “Virgen de los Desamparados” along Paz street and San Vicente street thousands of falleros march towards the Plaza de la Virgen. The procession finishes around midnight. At 01.00 a.m. Fireworks on the Paseo de La Alameda (between Exposición Bridge and Las Flores Bridge). MARCH 18th (Friday) At 11.00 a.m. Tribute to the poet Maximiliano Thous, in his memorial monument located at crossroads of Sagunto street and Maximiliano Thous street. At 12.00 p.m. Tribute to the compositor “Maestro José Serrano” , taking place in his memorial monument in Regne de València Avenue. At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square) At 03.30 p.m. Second day of the OFRENDA (Flower offering) to the “Virgen de los Desamparados” along Paz street and San Vicente street thousands of falleros march towards the Plaza de la Virgen. The flower offering finishes around 1 a.m. in the morning. At 01.30 a.m. Nit de Foc , the most important fireworks display in The Fallas Festival on the Paseo de la Alameda (between Exposición Bridge and Las Flores Bridge) MARCH 19th (Saturday) At 11.00 a.m. On the Puente de San José (Saint Joseph Bridge), flower offering made by the Fallas Queens and their Courts of Honour in front of the statue of the Patriarch. At 02.00 p.m. Mascletà (sound fireworks) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Square). At 07.00 p.m. Cavalcada del Foc (Fire Parade) along Colon Street with a spectacular firework show in Porta de la Mar Square. At 10.00 p.m. Cremà or burning of the Children's Fallas.
