The Extensive Reading Foundation Moodle Reader Plug-in/MReader Quick Facts Functions Over 7200 quizzes available (February 2019) Each quiz has 20-30 questions. Each student receives 10 randomized questions Question types: Multiple choice, "Who said this?", True/False, Event ordering Functions include: 1) Registration of students, teachers & classes via .csv files, 2) control of the reading level and frequency of quiz-taking, 3) Individual goal setting (word count targets), 4) automatic reminders to students and teachers, 5) Ability to match book leveling to one's own system, 6) leaderboards and other game-like motivators, 7) Ability for students to post their progress to Facebook Access is free of charge to schools The interface can be switched into English, Spanish or Japanese. Quizzes are available in English and in Spanish (mid 2019). History 2007 – Created at Kyoto Sangyo University for their English Majors. Funding from a university research grant. 2008 – First implementation. Simultaneously released for other schools to use on their own servers. Further funding from the Ministry of Education, Japan. 2009 – Implemented school-wide at KSU. MoodleReader.org created for schools not having their own Moodle server. Guest login: readerlook / password: takealook 2010 – The quizbank adds its 1000 th quiz. 2010 (November) – Award received from Japan University Association for Computer Education 2012 – New 'MReader' version developed for easier access and support.
