IEEE: Brain Buzz

IEEE Student Branch of SCOE, one of the 2500 branches across the world, conducted a quiz competition called Brain Buzz. This event was held on 4th August 2014 in the ENTC department and was handled by the student co-ordinator Ankit Jain, under the guidance of the staff co-ordinator Prof. M.N.Kakatkar. The judges for this event were Prof. S.B.Takale and Prof. M.M.Wankhade. The event consisted of four rounds of which the 1st round was a screening round where around 56 teams (112 students) participated from various departments of SCOE and SKN College. Out of which 18 teams qualified for the next round, called the Cocktail Round. In this round General knowledge based questions consisting of different categories like image identification, full-form of acronyms, tagline and logo identification were asked. 12 teams further qualified for the Rapid Fire round. The rapid fire round brought all the contestants on the edge of their seats. Later from here 6 teams headed for the Buzzer round. Finally after four hours of exciting quizzing the duo of Naman Jain and Shubham Sharma emerged victorious. The winners were awarded with exclusive cash prizes and a certificate of participation was given to all. Such events are perfectly in tune with IEEE's motive of sharing knowledge.

OUR DANCE OF DRAMAS / DRAMA IN THE ‘KARANDAKS’

We the students of SCOE participated in the Symbiosis Karandak (previously known as Suman Karandak). We agreed upon a profound and well written story by 'Saadat Hasan Manto'. He was a critically acclaimed writer during the days of Indo-Pak partition. The story has a male protagonist named 'Sirazuddin', who lost his daughter 'Sakeena' in the turbulence during the partition. They were forced to shift to Pakistan as they were Muslims. The story goes on and describes the blood-crawling incident that happened in Sakeena's life. It ends on a note which leaves us spellbound. Our performance on 23 July 2014 won us many accolades and we qualified for the '50th Purushottam Karandak'. 'Tanmay Lonkar' won the best director's award and our play was the winner of '2014 Symbiosis Karandak'.The play for it, is based on a fascinating story by 'Gulzar', named 'Khauf'. This play needed a moving railway bogey which was crafted so well that, it earned a large applause. The characters of 'Yasin' and 'the disguised Hindu' were portrayed by 'Shubhankar Mahajan' and 'Tanmay Lonkar' respectively. Our director 'Rohan Bankar' also played the role of the 'Hindu shopkeeper', 'Bhau'.We have been selected in the finals for the 6th consecutive year and are marching forward with pride and looking forward to the 'Firodiya Karandak'.

PRAYAS- THE YOUTH FOR A REVOLUTION

Prayas was incepted in the year 2008 with a motto of developing responsible youth who will build the India of tomorrow. From the last 7 years the students of Sinhgad Technical Education Society have been carrying out the activities under the banner of 'Samarth Bharat Abhiyan' a programme of Board ofStudents' Welfare, University of Pune with the active support of the Sinhgad Institutes The main programme on its agenda is computer literacy and Social awareness. It includes teaching various aspects of technology hand in hand with a teacher training programme so as to assure the continuation of the initiative undertaken. The other programmes on its agenda are free dental check up, blood donation, tree plantation, career guidance, women empowerment and many more. Best School Award is given to a school amongst the visited schools. Also a library of books, collected from the volunteers, is made open to the school. Team Kraftwagen

SAE BAJA is a national level competition organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) every year, wherein the participating teams have to design and manufacture an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) all by themselves. Each team should comprise of not more than 25 undergraduate students and a faculty advisor. Team Kraftwagen, our college team, has been participating in SAE BAJA for the past two years and will be participating this year as well.In BAJA 2013, our team stood 3rd in the Endurance test, which is a 4 hour race on a rough terrain and is considered as the toughest race in the event. In BAJA 2014, our team bagged the 1st prize for 'Aesthetics and Ergonomics' and was also selected among the top 10 teams in the Design Round. This year, we have cleared the BAJA Virtuals in which about 350 college teams from all over India had to present their proposed ATV design and related parameters to an esteemed panel of judges, all of whom are stalwarts in the Automobile industry. Our team was one of the 112 teams to get through from India and alongside, will be competing against 8 international teams as well. At the moment, the team is gearing up for the main event which will be held at Pithampur, Indore in February 2015. The manufacturing of the ATV is underway and considering the way things are turning out, I believe we can better our performance in this year's event.Way to go Team Kraftwagen!!

Changing Business and Trade Trends of the 90s

The decade of 1990-99 saw a new dawn in the world's economy. After the Great Depression of 1929 and The Sand Bowl Crisis of USA, this decade marked a new highlight on how the countries trade and business trends were set to change. There are quite many reasons why the world's economy saw such a radical change. The most observable reasons were growing Asian Markets, booming IT and Computer related enterprises. This decade saw a shift of employment from the Manufacturing to the Services sector. The decade began with huge employment losses in the American Economy due to increased Foreign Investments in developing countries like India, which had just started to open their markets to foreign investors, all thanks to the concept of economic globalization. Thus, the idea of outsourcing services to such countries meant increased profit margin spreads. This also brought in new opportunities to the resident labor of the developing countries as job opportunities rose. The arrival of the global names on the domestic scene brought in competition to the indigenous producers and manufacturers. This not only brought in better product quality but also forced competitive pricing. The 'Y2K' deadlines set by various economies gave birth to alternative and cost effective procedural routines that saw a shift of paradigm from the traditional mass production to “efficient” mass production. To summarize, this decade set up a base for the exponential economic development of the 21st century

5 Awesome Things That Happened in the Nineties

Some of the best things that happened to mankind belonged to the 90s era as well. Here are the top 5:

1.Nothing hits you like music. Undoubtedly, the 90s music scenario brought forth talented new artists that are chart toppers even today. Bands like Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Radiohead, and Green Day drove fans crazy all over the world. 2. If you got it, flaunt it.Fashion was all over the place in the 90s. The decade old biker look and out-of-bed look are still popular today. Nineties clothes were more than style statements. They defined comfort too.3. The Central Perk Fever. How can we ever forget the most hit sitcom of all times? F.R.I.E.N.D.S was first aired on September 22, 1994 and went on to become one of the most loved series of all time in the history of television. Even though we love watching new shows, let's face it, nothing can make you roar with laughter the way F.R.I.E.N.D.S did!4. Movie Buffs. The war epic 'Saving Private Ryan', the romantic comedy 'She's All That', 'Home Alone' were all huge hits of the 90s. Closer to home, the 90s saw the emergence of the three Khans of Bollywood, with their blockbusters. 5 .Techno-savvy.One word: Walkman. This invention changed lives around the world. It gave birth to music maniacs by bringing forth easily portable music. Yes, it was a certified miracle.

The Technological Effect!

The 90's was a time of globalization in which science and technology saw a notable growth. This decade brought us some of the greatest scientific findings and technological inventions in human history that held the world transfixed. Today, we have lots of modern electronic gadgets which perform fundamental tasks to ease and comfort humans. In the 90's people working for the developments in this field knew that the growth in electronic and computer technology is exponential. Hence, they came up with some major inventions which have served us now for more than two decades consistently. The “World Wide Web” was first proposed by Sir Tim Berners Lee of CERN in 1990, which later grew to give birth to the hypertext language HTML. Revival of electric cars was also one of the major developments that occurred in the decade after the American government passed the clean air act. The Hubble space telescope was launched in April 1990 which was a major step towards study of extra-terrestrial elements. The reason due to which we can see each other over long distances, the first webcam was invented at Cambridge University in 1991. The Java programming language, and above all the father of search engines, Google came into existence in the same decade of 90's. 1992 was important for Apple INC for they brought up there first apple PowerBook. It was followed by IBM ThinkPad, birth of the Pentium family, and Netscape navigator. There was a lot happened when the generation of today was either not yet born or were not grown up. Cheers to the decade and the people who brought in about the change.

Miles to Go

After a delightful trek near picturesque Lonavala, my friend and I boarded the local train back home, happily reliving the thrill that we had soaked in. We got hold of our favourite seats by the window, heavily criss-crossed with metal bars only to allow air in. Like the rest of the swarm in our crowded compartment was the unostentatious woman who squeezed into the seat next to my friend with her son. As the train chugged out of the platform, a chilly breeze appeased the bogie. In no time, the woman coddled her son with a packet of chips. He was even entertained by a row that had sparked amongst the mob while he snacked. My friend and I watched helplessly as his mother pushed the crumpled remnants of the packet out of the tightly packed window. The child merrily gorged as the floor got strewn with crumbles of chips and biscuits while his mother littered the railway tracks with every packet the bairn emptied. Evidently, the woman was unaware her felonious act. The child mimicked his mother as he pushed another packet out of the window by himself. He had been taught well.We were flustered, vexed by the ongoing in the compartment. After refraining them from doing so, we realized there were countless others with the likes of this pair. Many who didn't have anyone desisting them from this mindless littering. There were still miles to go.

True or False

One of the most phenomenal stories of Indian mythology- Mahabharat- tells us about events which are analogous to modern day marvels, for example in-vitro fertilization, the part about how the Kauravas and Pandavas were conceived. It also mentions Sanjay narrating the war proceedings to Dhritarashtra- which isn't different to the long distance communication devices that we use. Weapons of mass destructions were used the Great War. As the story goes Arjuna unleashed the Agniastra which created instant fire and thousands of enemy soldiers started to burn. To counter it, Karna launched the Varunastra, which brought sudden rains. What happened after that is unimaginable horror. The combination of fire and water ripped the flesh away from the bodies of the soldiers. After the havoc these 'astras' created, the earth was surrounded by dark clouds of dust, smoke and chemicals for more than 36 years. Forests were destroyed, soil eroded, there were floods everywhere and entire cities demolished. The after-effects of the war which have been described in graphic detail in the Mausala Parva, vividly match the aftermath of the world's first and only nuclear bombings, those on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. With this knowledge, people have finally begun to wake up to the fact that the Mahabharata actually happened. Or was it conceivable for a man, however fertile his imagination, to write in such detail, so many events which are constantly being proved today as accurate and real?

I NOMINATE YOU FOR THE ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE!

The Ice Bucket Challenge started as an initiative to promote the awareness of the disease 'Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis' and to encourage the donations towards that cause. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a neurodegenerative disease, is characterized by muscle spasticity and severe difficulty in speaking, swallowing, and breathing. The challenge basically states that the participants need to pour a bucket of frigid water on their heads and then challenge other people to do the same. Failing to do so, would result in a charitable donation to the ALS Association. A person can do both take the challenge and donate to the ALSA. Many renowned celebrities and philanthropists have actively participated in the challenge. Mark Zuckerberg, Roger Federer, David Beckham, Lady Gaga, Oprah Winfrey are a few among many other well-known personalities who have had taken up the Ice Bucket Challenge.People are far more desperate to be in front of the camera these days hence the recent fad. Nevertheless this actually helped the ALS gain recognition across the globe. The ALS Association has received $94.3 million in donations far more than last year (July 29 to August 27) adding 2.1 million new donors. So, the next time anyone nominates you for the challenge, do think of it as a contribution to the welfare of the people suffering from ALS and not just something to share on the internet.

The Wise Learner

We all love to see ourselves as well-informed and knowledgeable. Yet, we should give ourselves the liberty of being foolish to an extent where we can 'quietly' absorb more wisdom. This allows us to observe the depth behind every little thing that we experience. Life is unpredictable. We should go with the flow because that's how we grow! Too much seriousness destroys a little part inside us, which makes us different from everyone else. Being wise is defined as “having gained” a great deal of knowledge. There is always a difference between a preacher and a wise person. Not everyone who preaches is wise and sometimes, the wise don't preach. A wise person will let you crumple down and then again watch you rise from the ashes like a phoenix. Everyone has a wise person and a preacher inside them. Mostly, the preacher is more dominant when in fact it should be the other way round. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. So, be a kid and never be afraid of your individuality. It is when you act a tad stupid that you reach a level of wisdom. You never know what kind of a person you are until you completely agree to explore your life. People get blinded by the little wisdom they get. Life is not about preaching. There is always something that is left to be learnt in the universe.

Politicians are representatives of the people. They areresponsible for the country's progress. Any mistakes can havestrong repercussions. Now imagine that the welfare of a billionpeople depends on you. In such a high pressure job, you canfunction best if you do not have any other pressing matters athand. The small benefits you are given help with that. Thus publicservants in high profile jobs are accorded the following perks.Their travel expenses to and fro from the constituency as well astheir medical bills are taken care of. Some cannot afford the costof living in a city like Delhi. Their housing and their electricity billsand phone bills are also seen to. They are given devices such aslaptops free of cost as it is important for a public servant to be intouch with new technology. It isn't just politicians who are giventhe aids, people who hold high posts in big companies also havetheir travel, medical and housing expenses taken care of. This allows themto fully concentrate on the job at hand. So you can basicallyconsider these benefits accorded to the government officials asan investment. You provide them these improving theirfunctioning and you will get a better return. When compared tothe amount of work these representatives are supposed to do theexpenditure on facilities given to them is quite miniscule.

-Varun Talathi

Perks Given To Politicians

We see many politicians and bureaucrats travelling in luxurycars and traffic being cleared for them so that they can traveleasily while a common man has to bear the taxing effects oftraffic. If closely observed, the difference between them andus is that they are people with power and we aren't. On an annual basis the expenses of these people run intocrores of rupees. They get bungalowswhich are fully furnished, free telephone connection 24x7,private vehicles, free travel and many such incentives forwhich the common man works day and night so that he canafford the same for his family. This is completely unfair as thecommon man who has the ultimate power in a democraticgovernment has to bear the struggles of life while theofficials who represent them lead a life which any onedreams to. It's high time the government should look intothis matter as most of the money they spend on thesepeople is being wasted rather than being used in the true sense. Thismoney can be invested in improving the lifestyle standard ofpoor and needy rather than wasting it on people who can aidthemselves.

Getting a job to financially support yourself is important but forthe ones who desperately want a head-start without parents, emancipation is their saving grace. With a sane and legal guide, aperson can file for a permit to live away from his or her parents orguardians. For all the right reasons, teenagers who have a troubled life or theones who are being abused by their parents, can emancipatethemselves. This doesn't mean that they are unfetteredindividuals, but it's a stepping stone towards a better life.Emancipation teaches one what being independent is and howimportant it is to be financially stable. The ones who don't want tobe adopted can always file for emancipation, if they are confidentabout handling their own responsibilities. With little help, aperson can make a living of his own, a better life than what he had.Emancipation is not just about freedom though; some want toprove to the world that they are strong enough to survive on theirown. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Livingindependently might not be easy but what if circumstances compelyou to fight back the abuse? Teenagers who are academically, financially and morally stable can definitely can file foremancipation. Emancipation before 18 is a very bold step, but theones who understand the gravity of the word can structure a betterlife for themselves. Emancipation is not just a term, but aresponsibility which can be efficiently shouldered.

-Maheshwari Viragi

Emancipation from parents(Emancipation is a permit given to a person below the age of 18 to maintain a separate residence and identity from his/her parents or guardians).

Emancipation doesn't mean the person is considered a lawful adult before 18. One doesn't get the privileges awarded to the adults just because he or she has filed and secured an emancipation. This only gives him a permit to sign his documents for himself. But other than that, the person is just like any other child under 18. And that's the reality of it, the person is just a child with the responsibilities of an earning adult. One not only has to find a job to shelter himself, but his academics also might get hampered. A place to live with all the utilities and a part time job to pay for in addition to the charges of education is big responsibility on the shoulders of someone so young. Emancipation sounds good only in economies with a stable education plan and where working young actually provides you something. In our country, emancipation just might lead to poverty since it deprives the person of all the privileges a guardian or a parent might provide. If the child is abused by his or her parent or guardian, changing the guardian is a way better option than complete emancipation. Moreover, there are chances he might not be safe after taking legal action against his abusive guardians. Without a good consultation, a young adult might get stuck in an even worse situation. This requires a lot of thought and contemplation and a professional advice if necessary. If one isn't aware of how acute this is then legal emancipation isn't the solution.

A flying car!!!

Has anyone thought of escaping the traffic by flying off for work? Well, for those willing to pay an extravagant amount of money, this is an investment they should surely consider making for their future generations.Aeromobil is a “flying car” that perfectly makes use of existing infrastructure created for automobiles and planes, and opens doors to REAL door-to-door travel. Štefan Klein is the chief Engineer and has devoted the last twenty years into making his dream come true, a dream that only few people believed in. Its latest prototype Aeromobil 3 is both stylish and comfortable for both driver and passenger. As an automobile, it fits into a standard parking space, its engine enables it to tank at any gas station, fully accustomed to road traffic and as a plane it could both take off and land at any airport in the world. It has a Rotax 912 Engine, collapsible wings and attains a top speed of >200 km/h. A minimum speed of 130 km/h is required for takeoff. To go for it just look at how deep your pockets are.

The Apple Watch: Wearables are becoming the next big thing with Samsung, LG, Motorola and Pebble jumping into the fray. While sparse on actual details and release date (Early 2015), the presentation contained many interesting titbits. The focus is obviously on customization with 3 categories; Watch, Watch Sport and Watch Edition, available in two sizes. Made of Sapphire or Ion-x glass, it contains a rotating 'crown' and a touch screen. The backside contains an 'innovative' heart rate sensor that doubles as a wireless charging interface. The 'watch' is available in stainless steel, the 'sport' in anodized aluminium and the 'edition' in 18 KT Gold or Silver, with Metallic, rubber and gold or silver bands to mix and match. It contains hundreds of watch faces and promises that the time will never be off by more than 50ms. It also has NFC, a mic and a speaker and supports app development. Although no details have been announced, the expected price is around $350 with January launch.

As the demand for large screen phones grew strong, Apple was in a dilemma;whether to continue with Steve Jobs' vision of a one-handed phone, or cater to the ever growing market demand of 'Phablet.' Finally on September 9 2014, Apple swallowed its pride, making a clean break from the past, and released not one but two new phones with huge screens. The 4” iPhone 5s design was shelved and in came the new 4.7” and 5.5” models, named iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. Besides a thinner and curvier profile, these models bring in a multitude of new features. The newer 'Retina HD' display has a thinner stack, 'dual-domain' pixels and 100% sRGB coverage that offers a wide viewing angle, crisp display, higher contrast, better sunlight visibility and a more accurate display. The resolution on the iPhone 6 is 1344 x 750, with its larger cousin having 1920x1080.The camera now has Optical Image Stabilization, which stabilizes the lens according to the movement inputs from the gyroscope. iPhone 6 also includes Near Field Communication (NFC) for contactless payments. Apple pay platform was unveiled to facilitate this. It includes partnerships with MasterCard, VISA, American Express and also chains like Starbucks and McDonalds. While the latest iteration builds up on a solid base and adds a lot of useful things, one has to wonder whether Apple has lost its 'innovator' tag. The new additions have been in the market for a long time. HTC, Nokia pioneered OIS in phones. Nokia created NFC. Iit's not just the sum of parts, but the end product that matters. The vertical integration of Touch ID in NFC payments, the quality and quantity of apps, richness of ecosystem, build quality offered by Apple is one of the best in the market.

Your life, Your rules

We have come to the point where we decide our life's course based on everybody's opinions but our own. There are indeed millions out there who don't have the privilege to see a dream. And those like us who do, sadly, prefer to see it through others eyes. Probably because we haven't yet realized the value of our life. We don't know the joy of doing what we love. Your parents tell you that you can be anything. But practically, it isn't possible. If you're tall, you can't be an Olympic gymnast. If you're short, you can't be a runway model. If you're good at numbers you can't make a talk show host or a photographer, you should become an engineer or a scientist because they make money! Hobby oriented careers are a far fetched dream, unless your hobby is to encode Java programs or manage accounts. It's a grudge most of us carry in us, about keeping our interests on the back seat and first make money by doing what everybody is doing. Life is short, but it calls to be lived king size and spending it by doing things that make you happy. So that tomorrow if you fail, you know it was your decision and you will get up and say 'try me again'. And if you win, the pride will be extravagant. Remember, if you do what you love, you will rock it.

TEEN SUICIDE-A HARSH REALITY OF OUR SOCIETY

Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in young people between ages 15 to 19. A person's pattern of thinking, taking decisions, handling complex situations all depends on his home environment and upbringing. Suicidal tendencies pollute a teenager's mind when there is a feeling of helplessness and anxiety or when they feel ambushed in any sort of problem. But suicide isn't an answer to problems. Life is hard, whether it is home, school, sports or relationships. Teens aren't taught to deal with life's pressures. Suicide is like a mirage where teens are flummoxed to figure out the difference between right or wrong. In such situations, where teenagers feel helpless, a clear conscience and one's inner voice can help. They must be able to introspect their decisions before acting. So teens must speak out their problems with people they have faith in. Some students have malaise in their family life, some cannot deal with peer pressure while some cannot perform well in exams. But all the problems can be met with a proper solution with the right guidance. Feelings of nervousness, anxiety, depression are common amongst youngsters and they go a long way, pressurizing them to commit suicide. These petty downfalls in life must not discourage us to take our lives. As Winston Churchill says, “Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.”

SAVE THE GIRL CHILD !

We live in the 21 st century and have achieved success in all strata of life. We may have found cures for many diseases and we have happily adopted new technologies. But we have failed to adopt the thoughts of the modern world. Words such as female foeticide, rape, dowry, acid attacks are seen on the front page of newspaper. In India, many families still abort a girl child by early sex diagnosis or else she is ill-treated. A woman definitely has a far better and responsible role to play in our society than being humiliated like this. But still we come across so many atrocities. These days even the capital of the country is one of the most dangerous places for a woman. The way our girls are treated makes one wonder whether being born as a girl is a curse afterall. In a country like India, where goddesses are worshipped, why can't we extend this respect to the women who enlighten our life? Its a shame that injustice against women is increasing in our nation but we cannot do anything to put an end to it. It is high time that everyone pays heed to the well being of women and help this country flourish. Unless we do so neither will our country progress, nor will we.

Cinema Today

Entertainment acts as a breather and pushes us out of the domain of our sticky schedules. Movies are the most cherished flavour of entertainment. It's not just three hours of sitting in dark hall with big screens, but a thought changing process which projects rather strongly on our minds. But sadly today, Indian cinema is filled with immature plots in the name of suspense and unrealistic, gravity-defying 'action' scenes. Item numbers have gained more importance than the storyline and the personal life of an actor sells a movie despite his pitiful acting skills. Lewdness in movies has increased such that movie time can no longer be considered family time. Superstition and malpractices are glorified by the films rather than shunning them. Goons are the new heroes, violence, alcoholism and uncouthness in appearance and behaviour is the new fashion statement. The tastes of Indian audiences have downgraded to such a level that movies that could be considered 'spoofs' abroad are 100 crore earning super hits here. The situation today has become so ironical that movies with substance go flop while those with utter rubbish scripts break box office records.Movies are undoubtedly primarily a source of entertainment. But if a movie can't inculcate good values, it shouldn't deprave those that the audience possesses. Frankly, India is still a developing country with most of its population illiterate. Cinema has the most extensive reach and has a profound influence on such masses. Thus, it is imperative that movies are realistic, meaningful and inspirational.

PICKS

1. Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech (1994)

This book is an unusual and curious piece of writing, certainly very thought-provoking. Winner of the 1995 John Newbery Medal.

2.The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky (1999)The book on which the star studded movie (though only Emma Watson was more than enough) is based. Not a conventional coming of age novel, this one stays with you for weeks after you've finished reading it.

3.Holes by Louis Sachar (1998)This deliciously weird book about a mysterious juvenile detention centre makes you want to laugh and cry at the same time. Winner of the 1998 U.S National Book Award.

4.The Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee DivakaruniThe book recites the great Indian epic of Mahabharat through Draupadi's point of view. The daughter of fire and the wife of Pandavas narrates the legend in her raw, compassionate manner, weaving an enigmatic tale of magic and mystery.

Madhvi Shridhar

As the president of the club, Madhvi led from the front, setting us an example to live up to. She ensured that the club stayed on their toes and under her leadership, we worked to make some of the best editions that the club has seen. Her firm unwavering no-nonsense attitude not only kept us firmly on the ground when we got carried away, but also helped us understand how a great leader inspires everyone. With a stare that would make your heart chill, and a trademark photo-pose, she carried the banner in her own way, taking us along. We wish Madhvi best for whatever she decides to pursue in her life. Thank you for all the memories and experiences.

Aniketh Rallabhandi

Vice President Aniketh is indeed an example for us to live up to. With his hilarious jokes and cringe-worthy puns Aniketh ensured each member gave their best to the club. A national level quizzer, his knowledge on matters ranging from politics to pop culture make discussion with him a lively and highly informative affair. His words ensured high attendance and his work, high quality. A person who could whip up beautiful 250 word articles in a matter of minutes, he set a very high standard for the quality of work we published. As a friend, philosopher and guide to the club, he's a quick text away for those who need his help and comes up with solutions to some of the most puzzling problems.Aniketh, the club always wishes the best for you, whatever you do. Thanks for all that you've done.(Aniketh's opinion on a range of issues can be observed @NikRalla on twitter)

Yash Sathe

As the treasurer, Yash ensured that we never had to worry about the finances. With a fun loving but quirky nature, he made the meetings a laugh riot. Yash set the mood for every meet. With his quick wit and creativity, he worked with us on the DEN. His house also served as a makeshift workplace for the English club, with his guitar for some entertainment. Yash and Aniketh worked hard together on sponsorship, often visiting dozens of places every day, to get us the required funds. He also kept a minute record of expenses, ensuring transparency and honesty in all the sponsorships. Shunning the social media completely, Yash symbolized the other side of the club, often acting as the mediator between fun and work that was done in the club sessions. We all wish that great days are ahead of Yash and you excel in whatever you decide to do.

Sanjeevan Jagirdhar:

Well he's the person from whom you can expect the wittiest replies. And these replies make you laugh super hard!!:D He'd be a perfect specimen for the scientists to study as he has a never ending source of energy! Now we all would all like to know that secret, don't we?! He has a treasure-trove of knowledge and you can talk with this guy regarding almost anything ;) You will surely be missed!
