Everyday Christianity

• As a Christian, like Timothy, we too must pursue a godly lifestyle everyday.

• So to make this work, we must listen to God’s commands in the scriptures and do them. Luke 11:28; Romans 12:1

Serve Where You Are Called• Whether young or old, etc.

– Be a good example to the believers!– This is a necessary pursuit of life!

1 Tim. 4:16; 1 Peter 3:10-12–Don’t allow pre-conceived ideas,

cultural myths or the devil’s roadblocks deter you of your godly goals and pursuits.

Phil. 1:20; 4:13

Pursuing In What You Say & Do!

• Be a godly example in word.– Edifying words. Ephesians 4:29 – Words of grace (favor). Col. 4:6– Words of Truth 1 Peter 4:11– Sound speech Titus 2:8 The Christians of old were also

expected to set a good example in their manner of life. 1 Peter 1:15-16 Both men and women! Titus 2:1-10

Pursuing A Life of Love

• Have love as your pursuit for everything.

• This should be a fundamental part of your life…1 Cor.16:14– Love God… Mark 12:30– Love self and neighbor… Mark 12:31

• Through it we’re to serve one another… Galatians 5:13

In Spirit, Faith and Purity

• Our pursuit of zeal for God and following direction of the inspired word is important. John 16:13

• Our proper faith is also vital to living right. Heb. 11:6

»We need pure motives, aims, and deeds. Be sure that they’ll glorify God… 1 Cor. 10:31

God’s Doctrine, Our Pattern For Living

• We’re to meditate on God’s truths.– We must give careful attention to reading,

exhortation, and doctrine. 1 Tim. 4:13 – Verse 15 (WNT) Habitually practice

these duties, and be absorbed in them; so that your growing proficiency in them may be evident to all.

– Verse 16 (ERV) Be careful in your life and in your teaching. Continue to live and teach rightly. Then you will save yourself and those who listen to your teaching.

• Obey the gospel of Christ!– Hear & Believe it. Rom. 1:16-17; 10:17– Repent of sin. Luke 13:3– Confess Christ. Acts 8:37– Be Baptized into Christ. Rom. 6:3-6
