Reason + CGIThe reason why the camera shot were so long before the accident is because the director didn't’t want the audience to have a feeling of if something was going to happen next. All action scene are very quick and jumps to one shot to another. But as soon as they crashed all the shots were probably less than 2 seconds long

The CGI in this scene was mainly when the poles went through the windscreen and the back of the seat. The reason they used CGI is to keep the actors safe when they were filming. Some of the poles were real but some were CGI.
