- Finbar O’Neill -

Page 2: The City that Never Wins

The Yankees, the Mets, Giants, Jets, Knicks and the Nets; there are two

things common between these teams

Page 3: The City that Never Wins

1. They are all New York Teams

Page 4: The City that Never Wins

2. These are dreadful teams

Page 5: The City that Never Wins

The Big Apple has unfortunately gained the reputation of being the

Loser City, being home to these high-profile low-performing teams

Page 6: The City that Never Wins

Statistically they should all have stellar performances

Page 7: The City that Never Wins

The two-time Super Bowl “Most Valuable Player” award winner, Eli

Manning is a quarterback for the Giants

Page 8: The City that Never Wins

Phil Jackson is currently the President of the Knicks and the Yankees have 27

World Series Championships under their belts and yet New York’s sporting performance is at an all-time low

Page 9: The City that Never Wins

It is rather pitiful how the Giants and Jets are battling for ‘who can perform most horribly’ and the beloved Knicks have so far lost 16 out of 20 games, a new record in the history of the team

Page 10: The City that Never Wins

The sanctity of the sporting Mecca, Madison Square Garden is somewhat preserved by

the Rangers who made it to the Stanley Cup Finals last summer, but New York was never

about hockey now, was it?

Page 11: The City that Never Wins

At this time of the year, the Knicks draw most of the spotlight and as a

first year coach, Derek Fisher’s struggle is painfully apparent

Page 12: The City that Never Wins

Meanwhile, Carmelo Anthony, right about now is perhaps regretting the

decision to not go to Chicago last summer when he was a free agent

Page 13: The City that Never Wins

The thriving population of New York is frustrated by whichever team they support in whichever sport of their

choice, no exceptions, unfortunately and are still loyal, albeit begrudgingly

Page 14: The City that Never Wins

The fans deserve better results and recently the Mayor has spoken about

promotion of soccer in New York after the City’s heart-warming

participation during the FIFA World Cup in Brazil this summer

Page 15: The City that Never Wins

This is the essence of this City - it may now be a loser city, but it is also a city

that never gives up

Page 16: The City that Never Wins

We can only hope the teams don’t either
