We will talk about physics. Inside this book, We’ll see how fun it is. Turn the page to look.

Page 4: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

Let’s talk about force, A kind of pull or a push. It causes your car to move forward, And your toilet to flush.

Page 5: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

There once was a man named Newton, Who wrote down three science laws.

It took hard work to write, But they have no flaws.

Page 6: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

Newton’s Laws. There are three in all. In order to learn them, Let’s look at a ball.

Page 7: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

The first of them all, Some think it is the best.

It tells us about when the ball moves, And when it’s at rest.

Page 8: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

Here the ball rests. Without feeling a touch, It won’t start to move. This tells us so much!

Page 9: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

And here the ball moves, Not changing how fast, Because it feels no force. Isn’t physics a blast?

Page 10: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

Now onto Newton’s 2nd Law. It’s something that we need. Tells us why things slow down, And why they speed up.

Page 11: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

Let us look at the ball again. To learn about that, Let’s give it a push. See, it speeds up but how fast?

Page 12: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

It depends on how heavy The ball is itself. And how hard we pushed, The ball on top of the shelf.

Page 13: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

The harder we push, The faster it will go. But if the ball is more heavy, It will simply be more slow.

Page 14: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

Now onto the last, Newton’s 3rd Law of all. To talk about this one, We will push on a wall.

Page 15: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

When you push on the wall, Does your hand sink through?Or does the wall really Push back on you?

Page 16: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

This is what the 3rd Law states, Without giving any slack. That’s if we push on the wall, The wall will push back.

Page 17: The Carnival of Sir Isaac Newton

That was Newton’s

Three Laws.

We feel them everyday. Even when we are inside, Or outside at play.
