2.0 Location

The Ammunition Store, Unit F, Building 123 Located within

RAF Bicester Conservation Area.

3.0 Historical Context

The building is situated on a former WW2 RAF training site. The site is noted of ‘national historic importance’ after being vacant for around 40 years, it was then added to Historic England's ‘At Risk Register’ in 2008.

Bicester Heritage was then founded in 2013 and has since restored the existing buildings, which are now a base for over 40 unique and specialist businesses. The site is now known as a ‘national exemplar of constructive conservation’ by Historic England.

1.0 Introduction/Areas Of Interest

This application proposes minor internal alterations to the Category B listed building. The work includes the re-sizing of an existing opening and the formation of a new opening to create a doorway.

Proposed 1:

Metal stud partition lined with plywood & plasterboard and painted finish - to reduce existing door opening size. New single sliding barn door to be installed.

Proposed 2:

Metal stud partition lined with plywood & plasterboard. New double glazed screen door to be installed.
