GESU (JAY-ZOO) CATHOLIC CHURCH

Built in 1893, Gesu Church is a Jesuit sponsored parish of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Marquette students are among the many who attend Mass in this symbolic center of faith life on campus.

RAYNOR LIBRARY RESEARCH AND STUDY FACILITIES

The Raynor Memorial Library is not only state of the art but also the center for undergraduate research on campus. The Raynor is a great place to read, study, or work on group projects. Students can even grab a coffee on the bridge that connects this digital facility with our traditional library.

Feel the thrill of Marquette basketball as we compete in the Big East conference. Including basketball, Marquette offers a total of eight division one varsity sports for students to participate in and cheer on.

THE “AL” OUR HOME COURT

Named in honor of Al McGuire, Marquette’s incomparable former men’s basketball coach, the Al McGuire Center is home court for the women’s basketball and volleyball teams and a practice facility for the men’s basketball team.

STUDENT LIFE O-FEST AT THE ALUMNI MEMORIAL UNION

At Marquette, the opportunities to grow go far beyond the classroom. The Alumni Memorial Union (AMU) boasts a coffee shop, bank, post office, spirit shop, chapel, and space for some of our over 250 student organizations. The AMU’s central location makes it the heart of student life.

QUIET REFLECTION ST. JOAN OF ARC CHAPEL

A French relic of the 15th Century, students regularly gather at the St. Joan of Arc Chapel. Marquette University offers many ways for students to step away from the business of life to reflect on a greater purpose.

AL’S RUN OVER 17,000 RUNNING FOR CHARITY

“Help one kid at a time. He’ll maybe go back and help a few more. In a generation, you’ll have something.” —Al McGuire Championed by legendary former Marquette coach Al McGuire, this annual run has raised over $6 million for the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Marquette University guarantees housing and more than 90 percent of underclassmen live on campus. With so many students in the area there are plenty of opportunities for group study as well social events such as line dancing with the famous Klement’s Racing Sausages.

Marquette boasts more club and intramural athletic opportunities than any other Jesuit University. Students can access two indoor recreational facilities and a 13-acre outdoor track and field facility, Valley Fields.

GET IN THE SPIRIT MIRACLE ON CENTRAL MALL

Miracle on Central Mall is Marquette’s annual Christmas tree lighting event. Students from across campus come to celebrate the holiday season (and to take a break from studying for finals).

WINTER MARQUETTE STUDENTS LOVE THE SNOW

Not even a “little snow” slows us down. The first snowfall brings an annual snowball fight, snow football, snowmen, and snow sculptures to our own winter wonderland.

THE RIVERWALK EXPLORE DOWNTOWN

The Milwaukee RiverWalk spans nearly 3 miles along the Milwaukee River through the heart of the City’s Downtown. A stroll down the RiverWalk includes views of historic Milwaukee architecture, and access to some of the city’s best restaurants, shops and nightlife. Eye-catching public art gives the RiverWalk the feel of an outdoor gallery.

THE CALATRAVA MILWAUKEE ART MUSEUM

The Milwaukee Art Museum’s Quadracci Pavillion is the first Santiago Calatrava designed building in the United States. It features a 90-foot high glass-walled reception hall and a Burke Brise Soleil that can be raised or lowered to create a unique moving sculpture.

GRADUATION HARD WORK PAYS OFF

Marquette holds a University wide commencement at the Bradley Center downtown which is followed by a smaller ceremony for each individual college. This event is the culmination of the students time on campus while also marking the start of the next chapter in thier Marquette Experience.
