The world of Music

• Music is the art of combining and regulating sounds of varying pitch to produce melodious harmony expressive of various ideas and emotions

Element of Music

Rhythm• This is the overall

movement or swing and is considered the most essential element of music

Melody• The succession of musical

sounds or tones in an orderly manner. A tone is a sound in music which designates the pitch and depends on the vibration rate per second.

Dynamics• This means the force or

percussive effects degree of loudness and softness

Harmony• The study of harmony

involves chords and their construction and chord progressions and the principles of connection that govern them

difference in timbre or quality of tone in a variety of voices and instruments.
