How do you describe the One who fills the entire universe? How can we speak of HIM who holds everything in HIS hands and lives outside

time and space? How do you describe the only Creator that was not created? How do you describe the One who is immortal, invisible and the only wise GOD? How can we describe this GOD Who is always doing wonders?

How can you describe our GOD?

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY HE is the only one who is truly merciful and mighty

It is extremely hard to find people who are truly mighty and merciful at the same

time. Only GOD can have all the power that HE has and still be merciful!

Most people are “merciful” until they get a bit of money, power and influence

GOD is merciful Ps 103 v 10-18V10-11: HE never treated us according to our sins due to HIS mercyV12: HE is always removing our sinsV13-18: Like a father HE always pities us because HE knows our frame – that

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY Key narrative: Genesis 17 v1-10

v1: GOD appeared to the imperfect Abram, HE wants to visit each one of us today if we are ready. The LORD GOD introduced HIMSELF to Abraham.

Have you pleased GOD enough that HE decided to pay you a visit? Whenever our GOD introduces HIMSELF, it shows that HE is about to do

something In Genesis 17 GOD introduced HIMSELF and came to change Abram and

Sarai’s names. The next time in Genesis 18, HE came to do wonders!

We need to pray that the LORD will visit us , to change our names, our past and

our storyv1: GOD appeared to Abram at the age of 99 – when most will consider that it

is too late. Your age is not an issue when GOD is involved

v1: GOD talked personally to Abram i.e. “HE saith unto him”. Today GOD is not addressing a crowd but want to talk to each one of us personally.

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY V1: GOD told Abram “I AM the ALMIGHTY GOD”, walk before me and be thou

perfect

Just as a parent tells a child to walk before them, GOD told Abram to walk before HIM

Walk before me implies that GOD is watching your back Walk before me also means that GOD is closing examining you and your walk Walk before me also implies that GOD is right behind you, hence no need to be

afraid Walk before me also shows that GOD is looking ahead and defending you from all

harm Walk before me shows that GOD wants to direct our paths, just as a caring parent

does Walk before me means that from today HE wants to see you through that journey no

matter how dark and dangerous. No wonder David said in Ps 23v4 “ Yea, though I walk through the shadows of death, I shall fear no evil”.

To experience the power of the GOD ALMIGHTY, we must walk before HIM and be HOLY Without peace and holiness, the ALMIGHTY GOD will not visit (Heb 12 v14) The ALIMIGHTY GOD is not a magician but a miracle worker

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY WHAT CAN GOD DO?

HE is called the “ALMIGHTY GOD” because:HIS Kingdom rules over all things (Ps 103 v19)HE is the only Creator and HE calls into being those things that are not (Rom 4 v17)HE has so much power that fills the universe and beyond (Ps 19 v1)HE owns the whole world and all that are in it (Ps 24v1, Ps 50 v10 – the cattle on a

thousand hills)

Few Examples….HE can speak the universe and all creation into being (Gen 1v1-31)HE can part the Red sea and every other sea (Deliverance of Israel in Ex 14v21-22)HE can destroy every enemy and make the wheels of their chariots come off(Ex 14 v25)HE can raise the dead (The story of Lazarus in John 11v1-44)HE can create a child for a virgin(Virgin Mary in Luke 1v34-35)HE can make the dry bones to live (Ez 37v1-10)HE can make your fruit effort to bear fruit (Story of Peter in Luke 5 v1-8)HE can heal all manner of diseases(Woman with issue of blood Matt 9 v20-22, Man at the

V7: Of the increase of HIS government and peace there shall be no end. The zeal of the LORD OF HOST will accomplish this. Hence don’t worry about your life and ministry so long as it is truly part of GOD’s Kingdom because it is HIS zeal that will accomplish what need to be done so long as we remain in HIM.

LORD GOD ALMIGHTYWhy do you need a visit from the ALMIGHTY GOD?

To save you from eternal damnation (Jn 3v1-3, v16-18 –unbelievers condemned already)

Man was never created to direct his own steps (Jem 10v23-24)How many of us can truly say that we know what we are doing or where we are going in terms of life, family, career?

Not every issue of life/question should be handled by a child of GOD just as not every letter is addressed to a child/handled by a child. In Luke 12v11-12, JESUS said “when they bring you before synagogues , magistrates and powers, take no thought what you shall say for the HOLY GHOST shall teach you in the same hour what you shall say”.

So when the devil ask you such questions as: How can this be? How can this or that miracle happen? Then you have to be wise and ask him boldly to direct those questions to the correct office, that is the office of your Heavenly FATHER the ALMIGHTY GOD.

The only guarantee/assurance against failure is to be righteous as David said in Ps 37v25 that “I once was young but now I am old but I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread”. It is not about plan A, B and C.

The LORD OF HOST is planning a visit today - are you ready to receive HIM?Just as the bid for the Olympics and the World cup, you need to put up your bid to the LORD OF HOST and tell HIM why you should be chosen above every one else.

Typical question asked in a World cup bid are: How ready are your facilities, how much security do you have, how clean and organised the country is etc? Similarly, to host the LORD OF HOST, the following are important questions:

1.How spiritually clean/peaceful is your home? Clean enough for the LORD OF HOST?2.How ready is your faith, righteousness, meekness, obedience? 3.How much effort are you willing to make to host the LORD OF HOST e.g. countries make huge sacrifices just to host human dignitaries, the Olympics, World cup etc4.What have you to offer HIM, How much praise and worship are you going to offer HIM?5.Where will HE stay? Have every room of your life been cleared of offences and grudges?6.What can you show HIM that you have done for HIM?7.What will you discuss? Do you share the same passion for souls etc as the LORD?

You’ll get a name change. GOD’s primary purpose is to change your name

A lot of us today like Jacob are struggling with the LORD and are asking HIM to bless us in our current state, but this is impossible without a name change(Gen 32v24-30).

No matter how many times you enter the wrong “username or password” into a computer and no matter how hard you try and cry, you just can’t login. You in fact might get locked out –leading to more frustration!!

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY To login and access Heavenly resources, your “(user) name” MUST be changed

In Genesis 17v1 GOD introduced HIMSELF as the ALMIGHTY GOD and HE changed the name of Abram ("Exalted father") to Abraham ("Father of a multitude") i.e. from good to best.

In Genesis 35v10, GOD again introduced HIMSELF as ALMIGHTY GOD and HE changes Jacob (the supplanter) to Israel: Isra-El, which can mean "He who prevails with God," or "May God prevail,"

A brief summary of Abraham’s blessings in keeping with the promises of the LORD:Our LORD JESUS came through the seed of Abraham

Ask Abraham and Sarah – up till today, the whole world are still continually being blessed and clinging unto “Abraham’s blessing”Parents normally give birth to children who just form a small part of a village or town or country. In the case of Abram (because of GOD’s visit) one family physically became a nation! The 12 sons of Jacob (name changed to Israel) became the 12 tribes of Israel.Abraham received an everlasting covenant, hence the LORD always say “ I AM the GOD of your father, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob”.

v15- 17: Because of the covenant, everything connected to Abraham were blessed even when Abraham and Sarah had no faith. These include Ishmael, although the promise was with Isaac(v20-21)

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY To walk before GOD is to be aware of HIS presence continually. The worship of

GOD should not stop at the Church, i.e. it should extend to your home (“Take home JESUS”)

GOD is committed to you as much as you are committed to HIM.

Ordinary efforts gives ordinary results and extra-ordinary efforts lead to extra-ordinary results

Practical ways of positioning yourself for Divine visitation1. Be fully persuaded/convinced and serious about your walk with GOD ALMIGTHY

(knowing clearly that it is a life or death matter). Paul was fully persuaded (2Tim 1v12)

2. Understand that you are made to lean on GOD for your daily need. Your provision is GOD’s business(not yours). You sow the seed, and GOD brings the increase.

3. Obey GOD completely. Stop playing Church! GOD is not in a hurry but you are because your time will one day run out.

4. Like the patriarchs, keep making daily progress “2 Peter 1v5-8: add to your faith + virtue + knowledge + temperance +patience + godliness + brotherly kindness +charity ” and you will be fruitful.

5. Make yourself available and like Abraham GOD will use you. Like David always be found in the House of GOD (Ps 23v6) and GOD’s goodness and mercy will follow you.
