"We created the Napa Valley Film Festival after producing, premiering (Sundance, January 2008) and distributing our first feature film Bottle Shock.

Much like the subject of the film—Napa's 1970s farmers dreaming of making wine as good as the French—we envisioned a film festival for Napa Valley combining the best attributes of Sundance, Toronto, Telluride and Cannes.

AWARDS SEASON PRESENTATIONS 5:00pm – 8:00pm | Uptown TheatreThe Weinstein Company’s Lion will be this year’s Opening Night film. Lion tells the story of a five-year old boy who gets lost of the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home, and survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia. 25 years later, he sets out to find his lost family. Directed by Garth Davis and starring Dev Patel, Rooney Mara and Nicole Kidman. Dev Patel will be in attendance. VIP guests gain access to these very special screenings and the party that follows.

OPENING NIGHT PARTY 8:00pm -– 11:00pm | Ottimo!Celebrate NVFF Opening Night with the filmmakers and subjects from the Opening Night films, VIP film industry guests, celebrities, and top sponsors. VARIETY PRESENTS 10 TO TASTE 11:00am – 1:00pm | Napa Riverfront, NapaInnovative Bay Area student chefs showcase their fresh spin on dishes inspired by iconic film scenes. A distinguished panel of celebrity chefs, filmmakers, and actors sample the dishes (along with all attending guests), and then “dish” about personal favorites, the latest culinary trends, and the role of food in film. The dishes will also be paired with ten wines from Terlato Family Wineries. Chef Tyler Florence heads the panel, moderated by Variety’s Carole Horst.

CELEBRITY TRIBUTES 6:00pm | Lincoln Theater, Yountville The festival’s starriest night. Access Hollywood’s Natalie Morales and Kit Hoover host an entertaining evening honoring Lee Daniels, Kurt Russell, Viggo Mortensen, Dev Patel, Chloë Grace Moretz, Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell. Clips from the actors’ careers are followed by on-stage conversations and a presentation of special keepsakes from Charles Krug Winery, Chandon and Raymond Vineyards.

VINTNER CIRCLE DINNER SERIES 7:30pm | Wineries throughout the ValleyPatron Circle members choose from one of two dozen intimate winemaker-filmmaker dinners hosted by members of our Vintner Circle at boutique wineries located throughout Napa Valley. Filmmakers, winemakers and local chefs share an epicurean feast and colorful stories.

Note- A-Listers get first choice, while Movie Moguls enjoy the most decadent dinner of all, hosted at Meadowood with Hollywood celebrities and the Valley's most sought after wines shared by the vintners.

PITCH COMPETITION FINALS 10:00am – 12:00pm | Copia Screening RoomNVFF’s annual PITCH COMPETITION connects aspiring new writers and filmmakers with the industry’s best creative executives and producers to discover fresh ideas for the next blockbuster film or hit TV series. Producer and pitch writer Scott Manville with his fellow industry mentors will select 10 finalists to go into “the room” for the very public “Final Smackdown”. Join us for one of the most exciting and eye opening sessions of the festival and find out who has the winning pitch!

WRAP PARTY 7:30pm – 11:00pm | Napa Riverfront, NapaIn the ‘spirit’ of Peruvian culture and cuisine, this year’s Wrap Party celebrates the world premiere of Pisco Punch: A Cocktail Comeback Story (5:30pm Closing Night Film at the Uptown, Sunday, November 13), and the closing of another epic Napa Valley Film Festival.

Enjoy an authentic array of pisco producers from around the world, Pisco punch recipes from mixologists who made the drink famous in San Francisco, and a full lineup of spirits from the Anchor Distilling Company and refreshing Stella Artois. There will be no shortage of Latin delicacies including freshly prepared Sea Bass ceviche (Pacifico Aquaculture), La Mar’s savory Peruvian Causa Limena Anticucho Corazon and Paella del Reyes’ signature spicy rice dish. How-to-FestFAQs

MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS Our Patron Circle operates on a calendar year basis. The program is based on an annual “season" subscription, with a significant tax-deductible charitable contribution. You can join initially at any time to enjoy your first festival. Afterwards, we encourage you to renew promptly for the following year, settling into an annual renewal cycle (December or January, whichever is better for you tax-wise). As a core part of our support, you and other Patron Circle members are providing essential working capital that helps fund our year-round planning and our student education and community outreach programs.

PATRON CIRCLE CREDENTIALSA personalized credential is required for access to all NVFF events. When you make your Patron Circle purchase, you'll let us know where you’d like to pick up your credential(s). You’ll choose from one of our four village box offices (especially if you live here in Napa Valley), or choose to visit us at our private VIP check-in lounge at the Westin Verasa Napa. Of course, you can always contact us to make special arrangements. Credentials are always delivered in person with photo IDs and a signature required to make sure you—and not someone else—are actually taking possession of what you paid for.

CONCIERGE SERVICE DURING THE FESTIVALWe provide contact names and numbers you can call for support while you are here during the festival. Patrons have a hotline to Patron Circle support. A-Listers have more focused and full concierge service. And Movie Moguls enjoy dedicated concierge service to go along with private cars and drivers.

ACCESS TO FESTIVAL VENUESYou and other Patron Circle members always enter first, provided you are present when the doors open, typically 20-30 minutes before show times. Some venues have private entrances, and all special events have dedicated staff waiting to welcome you. Patrons are followed by Pass Plus holders, and then Festival and Day Pass holders. Non-passholders wait in a rush line and purchase tickets if space remains available. Please be aware that if you are running really late, you do run the risk of being shut out of popular screenings at our most intimate venues.

FESTIVAL ATTIRENapa Valley is casual in a stylish and chic manner. For evening events, we encourage dressing-to-impress given the celebratory nature of the festival. The Festival Gala is the most fancy, with men in colorful jackets and suits and women in everything from party dresses to ball gowns. And the new Saturday night Awards Ceremony & Party is sure to bring out a kaleidoscope of stunning fashion. Keep in mind that Napa cools down considerably each evening; we encourage you to dress in layers.

GETTING AROUNDFor maximum enjoyment, we recommend staying out of your car. If you must travel from one village to another, you can use your own car (though please festival responsibly) use Uber's services, or for pre-arranged private transportation, please call Rose Kapsner at Beau Wine Tours at (707) 257-0887. Remember to ask for your Patron Circle discount. Movie Moguls enjoy the added benefit of a dedicated luxury car and driver during the length of your festival stay.
