medals: Hello Charles J Nuccio Participated in the campaigns of Tunisia 18 November 1942 to 13 May1943. The campaign of Sicily 10 July 1943 to 17 August 1943. The campaign of Naples-Foggia 9September 1943 to 21 January 1944, and the campaign of Rome- Arno 22 January 1944 to 12 March1944 when he was wounded at Anzio.He received the Bronze star medal, The Purple Heart, theEuropean-African-Middle eastern Theater Medal with four campaign stars.Good conductmedal,American campaign medal and World War 11 Victory Medal. He also was awarded the NewYork State Conspicuous Service Medal. He lost his leg and spent about a year in Walter Reed and otherhospitals before receiving a Certificate ofDisability on 30 January 1945 and sent home. There was alocal parade in his honor. My Grandmother had four other sons that served during world war two. Twomore sons in the Army, one in the Navy and one in the Merchant Marines.
