PENTECOST SUNDAY 4th JUNE 2017
The great Paschal Mystery today reaches its climax as the Holy Spirit, promised by Christ, descends upon the world. While the Church celebrates its own birthday it once more invites us to rejoice in our faith, and it asks us to be bold in proclaiming our belief that Jesus is risen
from the dead and is Lord of all creation.
CELEBRATION OF MARRIAGE
On this weekend of the 3/4 of June, we celebrate a day for Married couples in our Parish. We invite all the couples to join for a special Mass on this Sunday 4th June at 12:00. Couples will have an opportunity to renew their marriage vows at this special Mass. There will be a reception in the Hall afterwards.
* * DAY WITH JESUS * * Our second Saturday of each month Recollection, Mass & Healing Prayers is next week SATURDAY 10th June starting at 9.15am with Morning Prayer, Adoration, Devotions, Talk, Confessions, and a SPECIAL MASS at 11am followed by anointing of the sick and prayer over people. It is a wonderful and unique opportunity to spend time in prayer and reflection. If you know anyone who is ill in your family or among friends please bring them with you.

FEAST OF ST BONIFACE: is on this Monday 5th June. You are most welcome to join in for the feast day Mass. This year being the 110th anniversary of the dedication of our Church, we will have a special celebration of the anniversary and the feast day on Sunday 10th September. Please do put his date in your diary.
CONFIRMATIONS Many thanks for your prayers and support for all the eighty-seven young people and adults who were confirmed last Sunday. It was really a hectic day but by God’s grace, all went very well.
CONFIRMATION PHOTOS Those who wish to have their confirmation group photo, they are available from the Repository. Cost £4.50. If you want individual photo, please write down your email ID and phone number . Your photo will be send to you as an attachment.
DEACON ROY AND THOMASZ Deacon Roy will leave us next Sunday. He will travel to India on 13 June to prepare for his priestly ordination. We thank him for his ministry and continue to offer our prayers as he is preparing for his priestly ordination in November.
Tomasz will return to seminary on 19 June after one year of his ministry here. We thank him for his hard work and all that he has been doing for us. Wish him every blessing for the rest of his formative years at St John’s. You all are invited to a reception in the Hall after 12:00 Mass on 18th June so that you can meet him.
FEAST OF ST ANTONY & NOVENA
In preparation for the feast Day of St Anthony, A 5-day Novena will start on Friday 9th June at 10am, Saturday 10th at 1.30pm (after anointing of the sick), Sunday 11th at 6pm, Monday -Tuesday at 10am. Feast Day Mass at 9.30am on Tuesday 13th June.
GIFT AID SCHEME New Gift Aid envelopes come into use on this Sunday and the Gift Aid organisers will be in the porch to hand out the envelopes before and after all Masses this week-end.
Please do collect your envelops if you are already a member of the Gift Aid Scheme.
New members will also be most welcome to join. All that is required is that you use an envelope for the money you put in the collection and that you sign a form to confirm you are a taxpayer and wish the tax you have paid on the money you put in the collection to be paid to the parish. You do not have to commit to any particular amount of contribution but if you join the scheme every pound you put in your envelopes will be worth £1.25 to the Church. Thanks to existing members for past contributions and a warm welcome to those who wish to join for the first time or return to the scheme after a period of absence. MARY’S MEALS This charity working for the welfare of children in developing countries is collecting unwanted clothes. They will collect these on Sunday 11th June before and after 9am, 10.30am and 12:00 Masses.
PILGRIMAGE TO FATIMA IN JUNE Coach will leave 4.45am on Tuesday 6th June.
NEW READERS Parish invite new readers to join the ministry of readers. If you are willing, please do fill in a form which can be found from the Church Porch and hand it over to a priest. The training day is Saturday 24th June at 5pm.

NEW ROTAS FOR READERS & EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
The new rotas will start from next weekend of 9th & 10th June and will have only the names of those who attended the training sessions. If you were unable to attend one of the training sessions and wish to continue as a Reader or Eucharistic Minister please attend the next Training Day on Saturday 24th June at 5pm. Many thanks.
