Congratulations to The Collective

as the Best New Addition to

Downtown!

The 2018 Governor’s Awards for

Downtown Excellence chose The

Collective as the Best New Addition to

Downtown.

Part of the reason was the

collaboration between City Council,

Lafayette Urban Renewal Authority,

Historic Preservation Board and the art

community. After the building had

been vacant for several years, everyone

worked together to remove that blight

and create a restaurant and brand new

community art space the whole

community enjoys.

A well deserved award!

Lafayette also won an award for

Downtown Special Promotion for the

Lafayette Oatmeal Fest in 2003

Best New Public Space for Festival

Plaza in 2009

Best Adaptive Reuse or Rehabilitation

for Lafayette Commons in 2015

Lafayette Enterprise Zone and

Tax Credits

The Enterprise Zone is a state funded

program created to promote a business

friendly environment in economically

distressed areas by offering state

income tax credits that incentivize

businesses to locate and develop in—

and non-profit organizations to assist

with the needs of—these communities.

Areas of Longmont, Lafayette, and

Broomfield are part of the Enterprise

Zone designation.

EZ incentives and tax credits can have

a significant impact, from $1,000 to

$500,000.

Enterprise Zone, visit
