INTRODUCTION

Ask Thai people whether or not they have ever purchased a lottery ticket, and you’ll find most will say yes. In fact, it’s quite hard to find a Thai who’s never bought a lottery ticket. That may not seem like a particularly remarkable fact. But ask Thais how they decide which numbers to buy and things can get distinctly bizarre in the eyes of western people. The fact is, there are virtually no lengths to which Thais will not go in order to get that winning combination of numbers.

Gamblers the world over pray to their gods for success and inspiration, or to simply be given one last chance to hit the big time. But few – in the West, anyway – will head to church to ask their local vicar for lottery numbers. In Thailand, however, a visit to the temple or a shrine to pray for the right numbers is commonplace. Even some monks have a reputation for being able to divine which digits will do the trick. Other Thais visit fortune tellers for lottery advice. When a respected Buddhist monk dies, many people will go to the monk’s temple to pay their respects but also in the hope of getting lottery hints – maybe the date of the monk’s birth or death or, if he was hospitalized before his death, the number of his hospital room. Other sources of numbers are car registration plates, addresses or telephone numbers.

Every one of us uses instinct to pick a winning number while buying the lottery ticket, and to that end we usually fail. Many attribute it to bad luck or something unfortunate – but there are tricks and strategies that could be employed to maximize the chances of winning the lottery. Despite the fact that winning a lottery is just a game of luck, the following tips (suggested by experts) may give you the edge you need to win a lottery and change your life for good!

By the way, there are other approaches less expensive to choose lottery numbers. As said, strategy for winning in Thai lotto plays a crucial role for chances of winning in lottery. Regular winners of the lottery do a lot of research on the numbers they choose and the probability of numbers to be selected.

For example, if the same number appeared twice during the recent draws, is very unlikely that it will be drawn again, for the third time. In such a case, the engine will not consider that number, unless the player has chosen "100 % pure luck" in the settings page. Another situation: if a specific number hasn't been drawn for a long time, the statistical engine will consider it "interesting".

By setting the statistical engine at high percentage, the software will generate numbers from among those respecting the above rules and tips, as well as other rules and conditions implemented.

We hope that every person who comes to Thailand tries out the Thai lottery. The chances of winning are much higher than those of the European and American lotteries, even though the prizes are much smaller. However, always be aware of agents who try to trick you and be aware of all kinds of theft. Chapter 5.3 will explain you how.

1 - SOFTWARE FEATURES

1.1 - Overview

The application is divided into five sections:

INTRO ARCHIVE SETTINGS GENERATE EXIT

The "Intro" Section

The user can choose a draw date, read the rules of Thai lottery, the Tips, enter the Archive of previous draws, or go to the next section.

The "Archive" Section

A database of previous Thai lottery draws sheets to view or print. It allows users to select any given date in order to review the results of past draws quickly and easily. You can print the full sheet of a previous draw. The software automatically updates the latest draw's results. In the "Past Draws Overview" Section, the user can get an overview of all past draws and print it.

The "Settings" Section

The user can manually update the database of previous draw, decide to exclude up to 4 numbers from the next session of generated numbers and choose the percentage between statistical calculation and pure luck.

The "Generate" Section

This is the main section of the application.

Numbers for the next Thai lottery draw are generated, according to statistical calculations and manual exclusions, and can be saved or printed.

The "Exit" Section

The user can open the jpgs folder or check for application updates.

Let's see in detail the individual sections.

Make sure you're connected to the internet before launching the application, in order to allow the automatic update of the past draws database.


1.2 - The “Intro” Section

This is the first page that appears once the application launches.

If the user is starting the application to generate numbers for the next draw date, he/she has to choose the correct date in the listbox and click on “Next”.

If he/she wants to check results and past draws, he/she has to click on “Archive” (the “Next Draw Date” listbox can be ignored).

If he/she simply wants check how the generate process works, he/she can choose “Try me” in the “Next Draw Date” listbox and click on “Next”.

Choose your language by clicking on the related flag at the top right corner of the form.

The “Rules” button opens a .pdf file in which the Thai Lottery rules are explained.

The “Tips” button opens a .pdf file that contains useful tips and tricks for the lottery player.


1.3 - The “Archive” Section

In this section, the user can search for previous draws and related numbers. If connected to the internet, the draws are automatically updated with the latest results.

1.3.1 - Searching for a past draw sheet

For a complete overview of all the numbers drawn on a specific day, select the date (YYYY-MM-DD means Year 4 digits, Month two digits and Day two digits) and click on « Show Draw ». The user is allowed to print the sheet.

1.3.2 - Past Draws Overview

It is even possible to display an overview of the main drawn numbers from January 2012 to the last draw date, by clicking on the button « Overview ». The following numbers are considered in the Overview: the « Full first prize number », all four « 3-digit numbers » and the « 2-digit number ». The list can be printed.


1.4 - The "Settings" Section

In this section, the user can manually set up the previous numbers draw, the percentage between statistical calculation – pure luck, and the 2-digit numbers exclusions.

1.4.1 - Previous Numbers Draw

Make sure the date of the previous draw and the related results are properly disclosed in the related box. These numbers are very important, as the statistical engine needs to evaluate them. If you don't have an internet connection, you can manually enter the numbers drawn by clicking on the Edit button and inserting the correct numbers in the fields. You will need to insert the full number, the 2-digit number and the 3-digit numbers.

1.4.2 - Calculation vs Luck

The user can decide the percentage of use of the statistical engine and the random one. By default, the percentage is set to 50%.

By setting the engine 100 % on "Pure Luck", the numbers will be randomly generated.


By setting the engine at 80 % on "Pure Luck", only 20 % of the numbers will be statistically generated, while 80 % will be random. And so on.

In a game like the lottery, statistics are not everything (and can sometimes be disproved). We suggest setting the statistical engine between 60 and 90 %, to give a chance even to luck!

1.4.3 - 2 Digit Numbers Exclusion

The user can exclude up to four numbers. If he/she feels one or more specific numbers for some reason will not be drawn, he/ she must do as follows:

Click on “Edit”

Insert the number(s) to exclude

Click on “Save”


1.5 - The "Generate" Section

This is the main section of the application.

1.5.1 - Settings summary

On the top you have a summary of the settings chosen in the last section, to allow you to check again if it's exactly what you wanted. After the “Generate” button is clicked, the software will consider the settings to generate compatible numbers for the next draw date. The whole procedure lasts less than 30 seconds.

If you decide to change the settings before generating numbers, simply click on the « Back » button to return to the « Settings » page. Make your changes, save them and click on « Next » to come back here. Otherwise, click the « Generate » button.

1.5.2 - Advised Full Numbers

Four numbers related to the First Prize are generated:


If you are planning to buy ticket to try to reach the jackpot, choose tickets that end with one of these four suggestions. Red colored 2-digit numbers have a higher chance to be drawn (up to 11 %).

1.5.3 - Advised 3-Digit Numbers

Ten numbers related to the winning 3-digit numbers are generated:

Again, if you are planning to buy tickets to try to guess one of the 3-digit numbers that will be drawn, choose from among these suggestions.

1.5.4 - Advised 2-Digit Numbers

Twelve numbers related to the winning 2-digit number are generated:

Choose from among these suggestions if you are planning to play for the 2-digit number.

1.5.5 - Jolly Numbers

Two suggestions called “Jolly Number” are generated. It comes in the form of two-digit numbers.

These numbers have a higher chance than the above suggestions to be drawn (up to 42%), but the software doesn't tell you in which section. It’s up to you to buy these jolly numbers to play for the First Prize number, the 3-digit numbers (in this case the suggestion is related to the last two only), or the 2-digit number.


1.6 - The “Exit” Section

Before closing the application, the user is allowed to open the folder in which the saved .jpgs files are stored, or check for application's updates at its webpage.

The page also provides the developer's email address and website.

2 - GETTING THE BEST OUT OF THE APPLICATION

The following guidelines are the result of customers’ experience and the developers’ knowledge to maximize the chances of winning, using our software.

2.1 - Preparation

- Define a plan for the short or medium term (for instance, 3 months – 6 draws)

- Decide the overall budget you want to invest for that plan (for example, 4'000 Baht)

- Calculate the number of tickets to buy for every draw date.

Let's follow the example and say that you want to invest about 4,000 Baht in 3 months. The best solution in such case is to buy 6 tickets for each draw date (about 660 Baht). That produces an investment of 3,960 Baht for the plan.

2.2 - Playing with calculations and good luck

- Launch the application by double-clicking on the green icon on the desktop or inside the Start Menu.

- Insert the Draw Date you are playing for in the related listbox.

For every draw date, generate the numbers only ONCE! If you generate the numbers for the same draw day more than once, you are forcing the system to choose different numbers. Only the first set generated is statistically the best.

- In the “Settings” section, make sure the date of the previous draw and the related results are properly disclosed in the related box.

- Set the Statistical Calculation percentage to 90 %.

- Manually exclude one number, different from the previous draw date numbers.

- In the “Generate” section, allow the software to pick up the numbers. Save or print them.

- Benefit from the statistics: evaluate the numbers to check if the same number appears in two different sections. For example, if you find the same number in the “2-Digit Numbers Advice” box and in the “Full Numbers Advice” box, consider playing it.

- Benefit from the tips: if you want to play a 3-digit number and some 2-digit numbers, choose the 2-digit numbers in the same series as that of the three. For example, if you choose to play the number 423 and the numbers 56 and 87, you have to buy the tickets ending with 423, 456 and 487.

- Choose the numbers to play according to your plan.

Always consider to play the two Jolly Numbers in your plan. Jolly Numbers are the ones with the greatest chance of being drawn.

- Keep in mind – or better yet, sign with a circle on the printed sheet – THE POSITION of the numbers you decided to buy.

This step is very important for the following of your plan. In fact, the position of numbers generated by the software is not random, but it does comply with specific programming rules.


2.3 - Remain faithful to the plan

- Every 15 days, for the following draws, insert the new Draw Date in the related listbox and use THE SAME SETTINGS you used before (same percentage and same excluded number).

- Print the sheet of the new generated numbers and draw a circle around the SAME POSITION you played the first time.

The one to the right and the one above are just examples on how to proceed. The position of your first set of numbers chosen at the beginning of your plan may be different than this one. What’s important is to keep the same position you got at the beginning for the whole plan. If your plan considered more numbers, you will have more circles.

- Buy the new generated numbers that are inside these circles

- If you win during the plan's execution, you have two options: either you stop playing, if you are satisfied, or go on with your plan, until the end of it.

DO NOT CHANGE THE RULES you decided before, even if you already won, until the end of your plan. These rules are: same percentage, same excluded number and same position on the sheet.

Once the plan is ended, you are free to decide a new one, a new budget and new rules (percentage, excluded numbers and position on the printed sheet).

5 - USEFUL INFORMATION ABOUT THE THAI LOTTERY

5.1 - History of Thai Lottery

The idea of lottery goes back a very long way, towards ancient times.

Lottery first started in Thailand in the reign of King Rama V. It was first drawn in an international exposition arranged in the King's birthday celebration. Again in 1917, a lottery drawing was arranged to finance Thailand's entry into World War I on the Allied side. Next, lottery was used to finance the Thai Red Cross charity works expenses in 1932.

Lottery was first drawn to generate revenue for the government in 1934 to finance the short fall in government income due to the abolition of draftee tax, levied on Thai males who wished to forego compulsory military service. The drawing was implemented by the Revenue Department. In the same year, lottery operation was also introduced to the provinces to finance the provincial municipality operations.

In 1939, the control of government lottery operation was transferred to the Ministry of Finance with the appointment of the first lottery board by the Ministry of Finance on April 5, 1939, which is now held as the founding date of the Government Lottery Office.

At present, the Lottery Office issues 14 million tickets for each draw. In the same draw, it also issues two million tickets for sports promotion and seven million for other charity organizations. To produce the lottery tickets, the Government Lottery Office operates a modern, large-scale printing press, which also handles printing jobs for other government agencies as well.

Each year, the Lottery Office turns in over 4,000 million Baht to the government treasury. It also provides 440 scholarships of 20,000 Baht each for undergraduates and earmark 8 million Baht a year for various charities. The office also contributes close to 20 million Baht a year for the welfare fund of civil service and military personal, Welfare Council of Thailand, and the War Veteran Association.

People of Thailand are very fond of being gamblers themselves. Lottery is taken very seriously in Thailand as it is the only kind of gambling allowed in the nation.

5.2 - Rules

The process of winning a lottery starts from the purchase of a lottery ticket. Everyone who enters tries to use their intuition at the time of buying lottery ticket, but unfortunately most people fail since a single draw of a lottery can only produce few winners.

First, we would like to talk about what a Thai lottery ticket looks like.

As you can see, there is only one kind of lottery available, used in Thailand for a long time. It is still paper-based material while many other countries have developed an electronic system to organize the lottery tickets. In Thailand, you’ll have to get lottery tickets from agents, who receive these tickets from retailers. As you are obliged to buy a ticket that already has the number printed, you will have to search to find somebody selling the specific numbers you have in mind.

Future projects of the Government Lottery Office include a plan to create a service that would allow lottery purchases and prize payments to be made via commercial banks' country-wide network of automated teller machines.


Usually, lottery tickets are drawn twice a month: the 1st day of the month and the 16th. Every ticket costs 40 + 40 Baht – they are always purchased in doubles. This is the official price. The top and the bottom part have the same number, and it is not possible to buy just one part. So, every ticket will still cost you 80 Baht plus the agent's fees (between 20 and 40 Baht). However, if you win, your prize is doubled. Every ticket has a single 6-digit number.

During the live draws, a lot of numbers are drawn every time, as they’ll have to draw all of the numbers according to the number of prizes stated. Now, the prizes and amount of this lottery are as follow:

1st Prize (1 number) 2 million Baht2nd prize (5 numbers) 100'000 Baht3rd prize (10 numbers) 40'000 Baht4th prize (50 numbers) 20'000 Baht5th prize (100 numbers) 10'000 Baht3-digit numbers (4 numbers) 2'000 Baht2-digit number (1 number) 1'000 BahtBonus prize (2 numbers) 50'000 Baht.

The Bonus prize is for people whose first 5 digits are correct but the last digit is incorrect by one number above or below (for example, if the First Prize ticket’s last digit is “5″ you can get the bonus prize if yours has a “4″ or “6″).

5.3 - Fake tickets

Lastly, let's talk about how to watch out for a fake lottery ticket, which could be sold to anyone. Unfortunately there are people who will try to sell fake Thai Lottery tickets to the unwary. Most Thai people can easily spot a fake by the lack of a proper watermark but foreigners can be more easily duped. Here are some simple rules to avoid being fooled.

A fake ticket has the following characteristics:

- A different color from the original- Different paper- No watermark

By searching for a ticket, simply follow these simple steps:

- Have a look at a genuine ticket so you know what to look for. - Never buy a ticket from a stranger who doesn’t appear to be a regular vendor- It is best to only buy tickets from a vendor that Thai people are buying from- If you have any doubts about the validity of the ticket, simply walk away

Never pay more than 120 Baht for lottery tickets (100 Baht is the usual cost from a vendor). It is also not realistic to expect to pay only the actual cost of these tickets (80 Baht) as the vendors have to make a profit, as they are not paid by the lottery office directly.

5.4 - General Information

Anyone, either Thai or foreign, may play and win the state lottery in Thailand. Currently, prizes cannot be claimed through banks.

At each draw date, around 5 pm, you can check the lottery results directly at the Government Lottery Office website or with the help of this application which automatically updates them.

Draw dates are the 1st and 16th of each month. If that date falls on a holiday, the draw is delayed to the day after.

However, if the payout of every single ticket amounts to less than 20,000 Baht, you can go to a local agent and he will give you the money in cash.
