NRW Goes to India A business delegation from the State of North Rhine Westphalia (NRW) will be visiting India  from 21st  to 26th February 2011.  The programme will start in Mumbai with the inaugural event on 21.2.2011. The delegation will then split into 2 groups and proceed on individual programmes in Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai. The whole delegation will once again meet in Delhi for the final NRW Summit on 25.2.2011.

 The home ministries new declaration will generalize visa norms across all sectors. The main beneficiaries of these relaxations will be those companies (mostly  in the power and steel sector), who are currently using  imported  equipment  and  technology  in  their  projects  and  need  the  assistance  of  foreign technicians.   The home ministry circular however does specify that the $25,000 benchmark will not be applicable to translators, chefs and language teachers brought for project‐related work.  Employing  foreign nationals  raises several  tax  implications  for  Indian companies. All  Indian companies are expected  to withhold  tax on  salaries disbursed.  In  the  case of  foreign nationals  this may  lead  to employees being taxed dually, in India as well as in their home state.

It is owned by the German Government and works in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.
