High School Planning High School Registration Information for Sarasota, Booker, and Riverview:

This notification is for students attending Sarasota High School, Booker High School, and Riverview

High School (not including IB). All other high school registration: Parents need to contact directly for

registration protocol.

Sarasota High School:

If you are districted for Sarasota High and are planning to attend SHS next year OR you have been accepted

into their AICE or MaST program, you are to report to their registration presentation on the date below: Thursday March 15th at 9 a.m. in the SSAS Gym. This is for students only – parents do not attend.

Students will bring home registration materials and Sarasota High will return a week later to pick them up

during school hours. Booker High School:

If you are districted for Booker High and are planning to attend BHS next year OR you have been accepted in-

to their AICE, VPA, or Law Academy program, you are to report to their registration presentation on the

date below: Monday March 12th at 10 a.m. in the SSAS Cafeteria. This is for students only – parents do not attend.

Students will bring home registration materials and Booker High will return a week later to pick them up dur-

ing school hours. Riverview High School:

If you are districted for Riverview High and are planning to attend RHS next year you are to report to their

registration presentation on the date below: Tuesday April 3rd at 10:30 a.m. in the SSAS Café. This is for students only – parents do not attend.

Students will bring home registration materials and Sarasota High will return a week later to pick them up

during school hours.

Sarasota County High Schools, Information, and Deadlines:

Booker High School:

VPA (Visual Performing Arts) – Must audition to get in (February/March 2018)

AICE (Advanced International Certificate of Education) Program – Must apply to be accepted

(Can be combined with the VPA)

Law Academy – Must apply to get in (applications open December/January typically)

Riverview High School:

IB (International Baccalaureate) – Must apply to get in. Applications available online.

Sarasota High School:

AICE Program – Must apply to get in. Can be combined with MaST

Application window is from December 2017-April 17th, 2018 – rolling admission.

Check AICE website (www.shsaice.com) to download application or get one from

Mr. Mapes or Mrs. Kozlowski. Applications are available online or in counselor’s

office now.

MaST Program – Must apply to get in (can be combined with AICE) (applications

open December/January typically)

High School Planning (Cont.):

Suncoast Polytechnical High School: Must apply to get in

Applications available online (under School Resources)

Walking Tours on Campus: these occur monthly – check the SPHS website for upcoming

dates.

Sarasota Military Academy (SMA): Lottery process for admissions. Must submit application form to

be considered for lottery held in late March 2018.

IB Program – Must apply to get in. Applications on SMA website or in counselor’s office.

SMA open enrollment window is 1/3/18-3/31/18. Applications must be submitted by 3/31/18 to be

considered for enrollment into 18-19 school year. If you’re interested in the Sarasota Military

Academy, schedule an appointment to visit their orientation that occur on Tuesday mornings from

7-9 a.m. by calling them directly.

Pine View High School for the Gifted: Must be eligible for full time Gifted - if you are interested

email Ms. Plath for a file review.

School Choice for Sarasota County

Open from 2/13-3/20, 2018. Applications will be available at SSAS the first week of February. Once spe-

cific dates are released, we will post them here. Participating schools typically are:

Riverview HS, Sarasota HS, Booker HS, Venice HS, and North Port HS

School Choice for Manatee County

CLOSED

Mr. Mapes and Mrs. Kozlowski will post any new updates/information from Sarasota County high schools in the Team News, we advise checking the high school websites for the most up-to-date information and due dates.
