THThe 12 International Conference Mechatronic Systems and Materials (MSM 2016) is organized by Bialystok University of Technology, Opole University of Technology, Kaunas University of Technology, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.

INTELLIGENT TECHNICAL SYSTEMS

AIM AND SCOPE

The aim of the conference is to provide an opportunity to share information and facilitate co-operation in mechatronics and new materials and dissemination of current research results in this multi-disciplinary field. English will be the official language of the conference.

After positive reviews, the submitted manuscripts will be published as short or full papers in one of the following journals/books:1. Solid State Phenomena, www.ttp.net2. Acta Mechanica et Automatica, www.acta.mechanica.pb.edu.pl3. Control and Cybernetics, control.ibspan.waw.pl4. A post-conference book published by Springer; only a limited

number of full papers will be included, with a minimum of 10 printed pages each.

5. A post-conference book published by Bialystok University of Technology Publishing Office.

One-page abstracts of all positively reviewed papers will be published in the Proceedings before the conference.

Cancellation received before May 15, 2016 will be subjected to 50 € administration charge. After this data the registration fees are non-refundable.

Registration fee for participants includes: printed matter, participation in all sessions and conference events (lunches, coffee breaks, conference banquet and excursion)

Registration fee for an accompanying person includes: lunches, coffee breaks, conference banquet and excursion

Registration fee does not include accommodation payment

INTELLIGENT TECHNICAL SYSTEMS

The 12th MSM'2016 will take place in Białystok. With its population of over 300,000 inhabitants, Białystok is the biggest city in the north eastern Poland as well as the educational and economic centre of the region called “the Green Lungs of Poland”. The city is spread out, with numerous parks, forests, and squares. The specific cultural climate of Bialystok is mainly due to the centuries old multinational and multi-religious tradition. The whole region is dotted with Catholic, Orthodox, Muslim and Jewish temples. The attendees of the MSM'2016 will have an opportunity to visit the most important Bialystok tourists attractions such as the Branicki's Palace, the Equerry's House from the 18th century, the City Hall, the modern Philharmonic Hall and sacral buildings, such as the neo-gothic cathedral of the Holy Virgin Mary, the 19th century Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Similarly to the MSM'2012, the attendees of the MSM'2016 are intended to take part in one of two excursions.

The Biebrza river valley: The route goes through the Biebrza river valley which is known for its Europe's largest peat bogs and habitats for elks. It is a home to wolves, beavers and otters. The valley, with the unique variety of plants, birds and animals is a part of the Biebrza National Park, which is the largest national park in Poland. The attendees of the MSM'2016 will walk on educational paths, climb watchtowers and observation platforms to admire beatiful Biebrza riverbed and nearby woodlands. In the Osowiec Fortress they will have an opportunity to visit mighty forts and unique underground passages. The Fortress located in the difficult to access Biebrza marches was erected in the 19th century by the Russian Tsar for defence againt the Germans. Folk handicraft of the Podlasie region: The route goes through unique handicraft workplaces spread out in the Knyszynska Forest. The attendees of the MSM'2016 will visit blacksmith's, potter's, spoon maker's and weaver's workshops and get acquainted with traditional, generations old rules of crafting products from clay, wood or metal. They will have an opportunity to try their hands and make an original steel rose or a clay cup. Next a traditional pickling cabbage contest will be held. Those who pass the exam in pickling will be rewarded with delicacies of regional cuisine and original hop beer brewed at the traditional home brewery. Both excursions will finish with a dinner at the ship cruise on the Augustow lakes.
