Presentation Title: The Role of Surgery in the Treatment of Sleep Apnoea – Evidence from 1000 patients

Mr Vik Veer works at the Royal National Throat Nose & Ear Hospital, Central

London, UK. He works alongside with Professor Kotecha at the Sleep

Medicine Department. He is a co-founder of the British Association of Sleep

Surgeons and works solely with OSA patients in his NHS practice at the

RNTNE hospital. He has developed a new classification and technique for

Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy to improve its reliability and validity. The

STAMP score is a new patient reported outcome measure for OSA developed

by Mr. Vik Veer.

Presentation Title: Respira Libre®: Diode’s Laser for In Office Endoscopic Surgery Center, a new type of ENT Center exclusive for patients with obstructive nasal diagnosis.

Sajidxa Mariño is an Otolaryngologist, specialized in endoscopic surgery. In

2017 he created the Centro Respira Libre, dedicated exclusively to the

treatment of nasal obstructions and snoring with diode laser in the office of

any patient from 2 years of age. Show,Good Morning America and many other

programs.

Presentation Title: Predictive biomarkers for treatment response in Head and Neck cancer

Karin Roberg has worked at the Department of Otorhinolarygology in

Linköping since 2003 and is a professor in Experimental Otorhinolaryngology.

The research of her group is focused on biomarkers for treatment response in

head and neck cancer.

pathology” Fellowship of one year in Rhinology and facial plastic at the

Hospital de Clínicas (with Drs. Luis Chinski & Hernan Chinski-

ARGENTINA).

Presentation Title: Clinical implications of the nasal septal deformities

Marin Šubarić was born in 1955 in Zagreb, Croatia. He graduated from Zagreb University Medical School in 1979 and is an ENT specialist from 1990. In the field of rhinology he focused on the incidence of particular types of septal deformities according to Mladina's international classification. These studies under the leadership of prof.Mladina, confirmed dominantly inherited septal deformities type 5 and 6. Second research proved that type 6 of septal deformity stays in close relationship to the cleft lip/palate (CLP) occurrence in newborns. Thanks to his recent research, now we know that people carrying one of types 5 or 6, besides already well known proved factors, have a predilection factor for the onset of an acute coronary syndrome. He practiced for twenty years as Head of the ENT Clinic at Dubrava University Hospital in Zagreb. From 2017 he is a full time professor at University North in Varaždin, Croatia.

Dr Cuevas is specialized in Smell disorders and has experience in Chronic

Rhinosinusitis treatment and BAST- 24 management for the evaluation of

Smell Disorders in Latin America. She has participated in several events in

Europe, United States and South America being one of the referents in her

Dr.Irina Meitel In 2015, finished I.M. Sechenov First MSMU, the centre for

care. She completed 2015, 2016 - workshop on topical issues on otosurgery,

with the course of dissection of the temporal bone, First MSMU named after I.

M. Sechenov. She is interested in Surgical treatment of adults and children:

endoscopic adenotomy, adenotonsillectomy, tonsillectomy, laser, radio-wave

shunting of the tympanic cavity, septoplasty, correction of the inferior

turbinates, including using a laser, functional endoscopic surgery of the

paranasal sinuses. She won multiple prize-winner of competitions of scientific

Dr. Claudio Ricardo Haissiner is ENT specialist in Buenos Aires. He is an associate profesor of Otolayngology at University of Buenos Aires. residency in a Govt paediatric Hospital for a year and then moved to UK to

working as a Clinical fellow in ENT in Pennine Acute NHS trust.

Presentation Title: Non-allergic rhinitis: Misdiagnosing a common disease. Classification, Diagnosis, Treatment

Dr Tzanakakis Michail is an ENT Surgeon, specialized in Rhinology and has

quite a few experience of rhinosurgery. He has a Master’s Degree in

Rhinology and Rhinosurgery and a PhD degree from the University of Crete.

He is a member of the Greek ENT society and works in private since 2010 in

collaboration with Chania General Clinic where he performs most of his

surgeries.

Presentation Title: Hearing Loss in Diabetes- an unrecognized co-morbidity

Anna Pugh is an experienced Hearing Therapist Audiologist working in the

UK in the private sector. She is the UK Lead for The Audiology Project, an

international collaboration of professionals and specialists working to raise the

profile of the impacts of hearing loss with our patients with Diabetes and our

colleagues, and influence strategic Diabetes Prevention and Education

programmers.

sector in the country) and done fellowship in Otology and Rhinology. Dr.
