2000, 1ère édition du SRES.
18 ans après l’histoire nous a donné raison : force est de constater que les chirurgiens ont désormais une orientation vers la radiologie interventionnelle et que les radiologues prennent en charge des malades très chirurgicaux.En 2018 nous continuerons dans cet esprit.
La deuxième réflexion se porte sur les échanges entre Américains et Français.Nous avons eu la chance pendant 18 éditions d’être accompagnés de deux des représentants américains les plus charismatiques, Michel Makaroun et Michael Dake - de leurs équipes et collègues. Nous avons constitué avec le SRES une véritable communauté de pensée. Il nous semblait donc logique, lorsqu’ils nous ont proposé une réunion commune entre nos deux meetings, le SRES et le PVS, de répondre présents et d’honorer cette invitation.Cette édition 2018 à Pittsburgh sera l’occasion de concrétiser cette démarche.
C’est également l’occasion pour les jeunes générations de prendre conscience de l’importance de se confronter et de s’ouvrir au monde, d’échanger librement et sans frontières, et de rencontrer de grands experts internationaux. Une tribune leur est offerte pour s’exprimer en anglais dans le pays leader mondial de la pratique et de la recherche médicales.
De plus, Pittsburgh est une ville formidable - le fleuron de l’industrie, de l’économie, de l’art, et de la médecine en Amérique du Nord.
L’esprit du SRES demeurera à Pittsburgh, et se poursuivra en 2019 à Ajaccio pour une 20e édition de qualité.
