The 3rd Mountain Towns’ Photography Competition in Tainan

The mountain towns in Tainan is usually refer to Zuojhen, Longci, Nanhua, Yujing, Danei, Nansi and Sinhua Districts, which possess beautiful scenes of many aspects – the natural scenes, the vital life of indigenous, and vivid local businesses. In order to more completely bring all these indescribable beauty to citizens and tourists in Taiwan, we rely on photography lovers to record the precious moments of Tainan’s mountain towns. As the pretty flowers hidden in a giant garden, Tainan will be known by more people with the scenes such as the tranquil temples sitting in mountains, the tasty food people with the scenes such as the tranquil temples sitting in mountains, the tasty food products (mangoes, coffee, and plums), the breath-taking sea of clouds, the magnificent moment of sun rise and the romantic firefly dances!

The competition this time is mainly focused on nature in four seasons, humanity, local business and local ecology of the above mountain districts, therefore all photo works taken within last 1 year can be submitted to Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau. The awarded pieces will be used as promotions of Tainan and will be shared with all others within Zuojhen Tourist Service Center. Beimen District Milkfish Festival

Tainan City Government cooperated with 5 milkfish aquaculture owners from Peimen, Cigu, Jiangjyun, Syuejia and Annan Districts to hold the Milkfish Festival every weekend starting from September 16th to October 7th. Tainan City Mayor friendly welcomes everyone to enjoy this coming event and the deliciousness of nutritious milkfish, which can be made into great dishes in numerous ways and is really good to health.

The size of Tainan’s milkfish aquaculture is now about 7,900 hectares and its resulted productivity is about 14,000 tons every year, where both numbers are at the top in Taiwan. The mayor indicated that milkfish from Tainan has been exporting to the U.S., Saudi Arabia, and many other countries; Agricultural Bureau will also assist in exporting milkfish to China, Hong Kong, Singapore.

Milkfish Festival will open in front of Nankunshen Daitian Temple at 9 a.m., September 16th, where a thousand serves of seafood porridges will be offered free and milkfish products will be sold on site. This event will last until October 7th, yet the other milkfish events will continually be promoted at Lujhugou Fishing Port, Jiangjyun, Cigu Salt Fields, Sihcao Dajhong Temple, and Yonglong Temple during the weekends followed.

Anping Fort Cultural and Creative Market

In order to discover the features of Anping international shopping district, it is going to build an “Anping Fort Cultural and Creative Market” at Gubao St., which presents the cultural and creative local specialties in the form of vending carts. It is expected that the market will bring the creative features of Anping up internationally. In coordination with the low carbon-emission program in Tainan, Gubao St. will be planned as a walking district during holidays.

“Anping Fort Cultural and Creative Market” is promoted for the regional specialties. Therefore, besides those distinctive old shops, the other 50 vendors with their cultural and creative goods will have high variety and be strictly selected by the organizer so to draw more attentions from tourists.

Moreover, to maintain cleanness and tidiness on the streets, the shopping district will be presented by vending carts, where its retro style can be seen on the first demonstrative wooden vending cart. The authority indicated that the vending carts can be transformed to mobile diners. With the unique design and the decorations on them, these carts will definitely attract eyeballs.
