ENGLISH SERVICE EMBLEM

In order to let the foreign friends to know more about the “English
Services Emblem” project, Tainan City Government hold an event
called “English Services Emblem Trilogy.” The first episode of the
event will be on Oct. 15th and 16th. The will be two model wearing
gold and silver costumes, the gold and silver heroes, walking in
Anping historic district and the south park square near the Tainan
train station. If you take a picture with both heroes, and upload the
photo to the Facebook page, you will be entitled to join the second photo to the Facebook page, you will be entitled to join the second
episode - free brunch, at 11:00 A.M. on Oct. 26th. Food will be
provided by the vendors who receive the emblem. However, seats are
limited, there are only 100 seats available.
The project is sponsored by Executive Yuan to assist local
vendors to establish English-friendly environment. The project
includes providing English lessons and material for vendors and
helping them with making bilingual menu and signs. In recognition of
good performances on creating English-friendly environment, a gold
or silver award will be given to vendors accordingly. An emblem,
which represents qualification for English service, will also be given
to the vendors.to the vendors.
Tainan is famous for its tourist attraction and local gourmet,
yet foreigners might have difficulty enjoying them due to unfriendly
environment. Thanks to the efforts and cooperation between the City
Government and vendors, foreign friends will be able to enjoy and
experience Tainan wider and deeper. Last but not the least, the finale
of the trilogy will be the award ceremony at 2:00 P.M. on Oct. 26th,
please join us and give applause to the awarded vendors.

On October 7th, City Hall held the 2nd Asian Bird Fair press conference. The Tainan City mayor Lai Cing De officially announced that the “2011 Second Asian Bird Watching Exhibit” will be held on October 15th and 16th at Tainan Anping Fishing Pier Recreation Center. Bird lovers all over the world are welcome to Tainan for bird watching and for the eco-tour. Hopefully through this international event, the public and the government can work together and let Tainan’s rich bird species and its ecology to make a foot print in the international market. The mayor explains that the Asian Bird Watching Exhibit has three goals: 1: To enhance the notice of Tainan internationally. 2: To let the world know that Tainan is an important place for the conservation of ecological resources because Tainan has 3 national scenery places (Taijiang National Park, Yun Jia Southwest Coast National Scenic Area and Siraya National Scenic Area) and each place have many rare species of birds and other animals. 3: The development of Tainan tourism is one of the important objectives for Tainan City Hall. With the help of this event, Tainan’s scenic areas and Tainan’s culture history can be presented to people. Agriculture Secretary Syu Han Cing welcomes bird-watchers from other countries to experience the tour of Tainan wetlands. He hopes that through these foreigners, the same experience can be spread to the rest of the world with the help of the Asian Bird Watching Exhibition. The director of Taijiang National Park, Lyu Deng Yuan, expressed that this is the first time that Taiwan will held such a grand bird watching event; not only there are static display of birds and conservation discussion, there are also dynamic eco-tours. Administrative office of Taijiang also joined Tainan City Hall and Wild Bird Society to make the national important eco-resource “Black-faced Spoonbill” to be exposed to the international market. According to CDC case statistics, it
shows that there are 334 cases of
indigenous dengue fever distributed
in 7 counties and cities nationwide
after the beginning of summer this
year, updated on the 11th of October.
Tainan City has already had 10
indigenous dengue fever cases during
the summer and from October 9 to 11
there were 4 more cases increased.
The Health Bureau urged the public
to assist the government with
quarantine measures, and also ask
them to take initiative on clearing
breed as well as spraying chemicals to
prevent spraying the disease.
The epidemic situation now still focuses on the mid-west district of
Tainan City, and the Bureau of Public Health has already aimed on those
living surroundings which are confirmed with indigenous dengue
fever cases to start with clearing and expand vaccine within 24 hours of spraying. In order to prevent the
spread of the epidemic, the public must cooperate if they have received a
notice of emergency spraying.

related with our environment, in order
to reduce the risk of spreading the
epidemic, the government asks the
public must actively clear their living
surroundings and especially for water
containers, do not breed mosquitoes. If
any public who ignores the
announcement and clears the water
container by themselves without noticing
the government, they would be fined
between 3000NTD to 15000NTD.
Therefore, it is important for public to
cooperate and take the initiative to work
with the government, and ensure
themselves and their families health.
