textile chemists start new headquarters building
TRANSCRIPT
John Tyndall British physicist, 1873
If this basic truth could be raised to the ninetieth power by the years since its utterance . . . it would scarcely overstate the intensity of the problem as it exists today. Yet men of talent and training . . . men of real breadth and depth in management, in sales and in technical "know-how" are to be secured. This . . . we are proving consistently in the service of our clients. For more about "ESP'1
and its functions, may we send you an explanatory brochure. A note from your secretary will bring it immediately.
1st Decennial Index to
CHEMICAL ABSTRACTS 1907-1916
. . is now available on Microcards. For those equipped with desk or hand readers these 60-odd 3 x 5 cards are a convenient substitute for the four-volume book edition of this index. They take up little more room than a pack of playing cards and can be easily stored and transported.
The 1st Decennial Index consists of the Author Index and the Subject Index, and covers the whole sweep of CA's first ten years. Its appearance on Microcards represents an experiment with this modern documentation technique. Other CA indexes may follow later in this form.

ZIRCONIUM-Hydroxychloride (Basic Chloride)
Solution — C. P. Oxychloride — Technical Oxychloride — High Purity Tetrachloride Tetrachloride — High Purity Acetatochloride (Available in developmental
quantities) A few of the many uses for these versatile compounds are:
Preparation of personal deodorants, astringents, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals · Preparation of water repellents for textiles • Preparation of lakes and toners from acid and basic dyes · Precipitation of acid dyes and preparation of zirconium soaps and other zirconium compounds.
Some of these compounds act as powerful Lewis acids and show typical properties of Lewis acids such as Friedel-Crafts synthesis.
NOTE: Hydroxychloride is less acid than Oxychloride and is therefore useful for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Acetatochloride is very water soluble and only mildly acid.
