Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week (GPSAW) – is an honor designated by the City of Lubbock and the State of Texas. GPSAW is held the first full week in April and is designated to honor Texas Tech University graduate and professional students.Plains Capital Bank Reception – A reception for all participants and judges of the annual research poster competition. During the GPSAW, the bank showcases 20 graduate student research posters at a local branch. April 5Graduate Student Awards – An annual luncheon created to honor and recognize award recipients from the annual research poster competition, TEACH program participants (with the TLTC), and Helen DeVitt Jones Excellence in Graduate Part-Time Teaching Award recipients. April 8Family Night Out – A social event for graduate students and their families designed to build a sense of community and cohesion among graduate students. April 9

Student Travel Funding – The Graduate School has funds that can match departmental funding to provide support for graduate student conference travel. www.depts.ttu.edu/gradschool/current/travel.php.

Red to Black – A joint initiative with the Personal Financial Planning Program that focuses on the personal financial needs of graduate and international students. Counseling topics include debt and credit card management, budgeting, loan consolidation, credit reports, employee benefit selection, and retirement planning. The Graduate School has received generous funding from the Helen Jones Foundation to initiate and expand a series of workshops and speakers that are available to all graduate students across campus. Campus partners include: Student Government Association; Teaching, Learning, Technology Center; University Library; Office of Research Services and the Ethics Center.
