Development of Warrants for Installation of Dual Right-Turn Lanes

at Signalized Intersections

Dual right-turn lanes(DRTLs) are increasingly used at urban intersections

Limited existing guidelines or research on DRTLs’ operation, performance and installations.

This research:– Developed methods for estimating

safety and operational benefits of DRTLs

– Developed guidelines for installation

of DRTLs at signalized intersections

Goal: A fun, computer game aimed at increasing
