Black Health Professionals Organization
Purpose: The official purpose of the Black Health Professions Organization is to provide an atmosphere conducive to aiding minority undergraduates matriculate in a professional, health-related school. The organization is pre-professional and not social in its endeavors.
Membership: Student, faculty, and staff at The University of Texas at Austin pursuing a health-related career.
Functions: The Organization is mainly interested in visiting the various health science centers as well as inviting minority health professionals as speakers at our meetings. Our main objective is to provide current information on the process of entering a professional school.

UMOJA Established: Spring 2000 Purpose: Promote unity of African American
women on the University of Texas at Austin campus.
Membership: All women who are UT students, faculty, or staff members.
Functions: UMOJA holds weekly meetings every Tuesday to discuss relevant topics to Black women. UMOJA also holds programs, both educational and social, throughout the academic school year that promote unity on campus.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
Purpose: To serve the college and local community by doing service projects and performing social functions.
Membership: Must be a registered as a second semester student at U.T. with a GPA of 2.5.
Functions: PHD: Prevent High School Dropouts; Seed planning; Encourage East Austin minority students to push for excellence in their community, home, school and on the job; Provide scholarships to needy high school students.

Innervisions Gospel Choir
Purpose: To spread and minister the Gospel according to Jesus Christ; to reach out to our fellow man, by introducing to some and presenting to others that there is a reality in serving a true and living God.
Membership: Registered UT students, strictly voluntary
Functions: We minister on campus as well as throughout the city, state and nation. We traditionally culminate our year with a spring concert.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
Purpose: Our purpose is to promote scholarship, brotherhood, fellowship and love for all mankind in a unified effort and therein render service to our community.
Membership: UT Austin students who have at least a 2.5 GPA and a minimum of one completed semester may be considered for membership.
Functions: Alpha Phi Alpha is a service-social fraternity whose campus and com- munity interests are aimed toward the advancement of all people of all races, backgrounds, and cultures.

African Student Association
Purpose: To form link between African and non-African students on the UT campus To educate ourselves and others on developments on the African continent. To introduce people to the diverse African cultures and traditions.

Functions: Host cultural functions, parties; give presentations to the UT community; orientate incoming African students, present speakers and African performers to the UT community.
