R e g i s t r a t i o n I n f o r m a t i o n REGISTRATION CATEGORIES
New clerk registration is for clerks who have never attended a TJCTC 16-hour seminar and
have less than two years of experience in the justice courts. If you are a new clerk with more
than two years of experience, you may be eligible to register for experienced clerk classes.
Contact our Registrar for more information. Experienced Clerk registration is for clerks who
have more than 18 months of experience in the justice courts and have completed a TJCTC
16-Hour Seminar. Experienced Clerks can register for New Clerk classes but spaces are limited.
EARLY REGISTRATION
In order to ensure that all attendees have an opportunity to attend a seminar, new clerks, any
new clerks attending an experienced clerk track for the first time, and any experienced clerks
that were not able to attend in the 2017-2018 academic year, are eligible to participate in
early registration on September 24th.
REGISTRATION FEES
The registration fee for 16-hour seminars is $150 payable by check or money order.
JUSTICE COURT CLERK CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
The Training Center offers two types of certification exams: The Clerk Certification Exam - in
Civil or Criminal - and the Master Clerk Certification Exam. It is the recommendation of the
Training Center that clerks complete a 16-hour seminar prior to taking an exam. Clerks must
pass a Clerk Certification Exam in Civil or Criminal prior to signing up for the Master Clerk
Certification Exam. Certification Exams are administered onsite at the 16-hour seminars or can
be scheduled in our office by emailing [email protected].
*Pursuant to the Grant Conditions, the registration fee is mandatory and is returned to the Grant to be spent as restricted funds.
The Texas State University Overhead Assessment is used for activity expenses that the Grant cannot cover, such as excess meal and
break costs, among other items, and are unrestricted funds deposited in a TSU account. Counties or individual who cannot afford
the Overhead Assessment may request a waiver.
